Peshawar Airport under attack...

Glad they never managed to enter the compound, i know it is no consolation but luckily the VBIED they planned on using against the outer perimeter wall detonated prematurely killing the three terrorists inside, furthermore 4 suicide vests belonging to terrorists on foot failed to detonate and were recovered & rendered safe by BDS.

Regardless of what any anti-army people say, our boys did a better job than the Americans when Bagram Air base was attacked.

This is 2/2 that our forces have quelled.

Bull...we always kill them at the perimeter. And that is not in our own nation (what US airport has taken any rockets?)

Well not exactly. The US lost at least a helicopter in the attack.

Pakistan has not lost any choppers or planes, which is a big accomplishment as they don't come cheap for us.

Not in the case of Bagram where the attackers managed to inflict a lot of damage in terms of hardware.

As for the case of these attacks not happening on US soil.. the idea is not about the soil.. rather the enemy's intent to bring the fight to our safe zones. Which are airbases in this case.
What most people forget about this war is that it is not about a defined war zone or FLOT.. the FLOT is everywhere, there is NO defined safe zone.. no defined combatant.
The enemy is everywhere, the friendlies are everywhere and there is literally very little way to get away cleanly in this conflict.
It has to end, very soon..

Right,agreed !
But who is going to take the charge, money hungry politicians ,afraid leaders of change, or ever denying mullahs?
Cause army wana see, how this dam damo-crazy can fight this terror, they have given back SAWAT when damo-crazy losted it,but its the dam system which is stopping army to take the WOT on the next level?
Surly we will see something like that happening in other mega cities cause admin is to dam bzy with their god dam politics or fighting their casses in the dam judiciary which is bzy taking sumo-moto against samosaa leaders ?
It should be decided , that TTp has no place in pakistan, & evry pakistani should fight against TTp,with their heart s& minds from peshawar to karachi?

If you are going to dress up like others and have non-Nato personnel at the entry point, you migth skip in due to bribe and confusion and cause a couple of fatalities. That's not an attack...that's deception and the lack of non-Nato troops knowledge level.

Any attacks that have happened even with small militia's on Bagraam and other airbases with Americans in it, have been squashed and terrorists killed.
Also, these are airports in foreign territory, in a war zone. We don't have this problem in the US cities.

Right, this time there wasn't a fatality. Glad to see American security training showing positive results. In the past, you guys had lost over a billion dollars worth of planes, the P-3's and the AWACS. And no, those attacks had nothing to do with the CIA (I thought I'd stop the rumor mill from starting). We'd like to see you guys squash these terrorists. Impacting your military's capability when you and we need it the most, doesn't help us at all. We see Pakistan as a big piece of the Afghan puzzle and we want to work as partners and support it long term. That's why, so many incidents have happened and both sides are still working together, which is a symbolic relationship in its own and probably one of a kind too!

Given the low price tag, JF 17 does not seem to be an attractive target imo..

From an Indian perspective....it is PROBABLY one of the most critical targets besides AWACS and P-3's. TTP from Afg has known Indian links....

Don't u think, that 10 dam years in afghanistan, on the name of WOT & a incident like baggram is a bad joke?
In which all levels been crossed, & you guys r vry vry willing to talk with TALIS?

It means basicly leaving a sh.te which already has hit the fans!

I read on dawn that 3 militants died of blast when they were trying to blow the wall.

Yup according to initial reports the bomb exploded prematurely, also another blessing was that the vests of the 4 suicide bombers on foot failed to go off and were recovered by security forces.

american training???
they were here not for training. they were here for spying. right after raymond davis case they were sent out.
on other hand how they trained Pakistani's withing few months time. because Kamra attack and this attacks time gape is not that bigger.

Why would anyone want to attack a civilian airport?

It is not civilian airport...basically they attacked PAF base Peshawar but failed. Inside what happen no body knows coz explosive van (VBIED) hit the out wall of the base/airport which is not understood. I only guess that may b once again may be security forces catch the fishes earlier.

Defence Minister Naveed Qamar has said that the terrorists used full backup in the attack on Peshawar Airbase, however, army and air force personnel thwarted this organized assault, Geo News reported.

Talking to ‘Geo News’ by telephone, Naveed Qamar said the militants attacked with full planning, adding several suicide bombers were among the attackers.

The defence minister said neither Peshawar airport nor airbase of PAF was damaged in the attack.

It is impossible to tell the correct number of militants at this time, he said.
and then TTP as usual announce this

Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) late on Saturday claimed responsibility for attack on Peshawar airport, Geo News reported.

‘We carried out this attack. Our 10 associates took part in this and target was air force base in the Peshawar airport’ TTP spokesman Ehsanullah Ehsan told ‘Geo News’ anchor Saleem Safi by telephone from an undisclosed location.

He said two explosive-laden vehicles were also used at different places in the attack.

Why can't they track his call down?
