Before Mian Sahib, there was ignominious displacement of Prime Minister Junejo during his official visit to the Far East. Remember that? He was accorded an official welcome when he arrived, and left his hosts confused what to do when he left. The Generals act high and mighty when they wish to, of course.

Well written. All valid points. So BVR, bad planning and deniability (in earlier stages) and prevention of an all out war (since India was not crossing the LOC with their planes, PAF did not have the excuse they needed to retaliate)

the highest peak in the Himalyas is the Mt. Everest. If you put an army post on top of mt everest, it does not give you command over India/Nepal/China border. There is a thing called placement. This peak at best can work as a vantage point but is somewhat removed from the National Highway. And is surrounded by Indian posts which can negate its military impact..

And its not called the tiger hill.. thats point 4660

The reality is that it hasn't helped you much. What benefit did you get? Choked off Siachen? Got Kashmir? No? Pointless.

Btw, among the highest peaks taken by Indian forces during the war was point 5770 on the Saltoro range (11 Pakistanis killed). That was thought to be on par with the capture of Bana post (Quaid Post) in its difficulty. Also captured in the same sector were points 5810, 5685 and 5990
