Islamabad, Sep. 9 (ANI): The Parliamentary Committee on National Security (PCNS) has directed the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) to tighten security measures at air bases and sensitive facilities across the country to protect the country's air assets.
The PCNS, assuring the PAF that all additional funds required to enhance security measures would be made available, directed the deputy chief of air staff to urgently compile financial estimates for new security measures and guaranteed that "the committee was ready to send its recommendation for allocation of more funds for the safety of national installations", reports The Express Tribune.
Emphasising the need to tighten security at the Pakistan Air Force Base Kamra, which houses the country's largest aeronautical complex, and has been subjected to three terror attacks in the past three years, PCNS chairman Senator Raza Rabbani said, "Once the PAF comes forward with new financial estimates, the PCNS will recommend the issuance of more funds for the safety of the Kamra base."
During the in-camera briefing to the PCNS on the Kamra terrorist attack, base commander, Air Commodore Muhammad Azam revealed that the three terrorists involved in the attack hailed from Punjab, while one of the three was confirmed to be a resident of Sialkot. (ANI)

What there needs to be is some form of Quick Reaction Force at defence sites liable to attack. As soon as the alarm is sounded, parties can rendezvous and get organised instead of waiting for special forces who are 100s of km away. The writing was on the wall when the "miscreants" attacked GHQ all those years ago and yet only now (ironically at the bidding of the politicians) are the armed forces doing anything about it.

Meanwhile, Pakistani generals are getting fatter and fatter......:hitwall:

From some footage of Pakistan Airforce base and others , Pakistan needs to have proper usage of

a) Duel Fence
b) Watch Tower with Snipper which can't be targgetted by ground incoming terrorist for example
c) Motion Detector installed in critical Areas

This is generally how Americans , secure their bases , usage of duel fence system
to given responders , 5-10 minutes of reaction time , I happened to watch a documentatry on how they secured
bases , and its very logical thinking , such measures should be implemented also in Pakistani bases

If there were ample high sniper towers , anyone trying to climb cut a fence would be shot

Would probbly not cost more then 2-10 Million in , installation

I was looking at Pakistani Security parameter , on Pakistani TV , there are sand bag walls , and then entrance is like 10 meters away .. not a single watch tower in sight , Pakistan needs to step away from mind set of war time security vs Terrorist defence or in some cases I saw on TV that there were few rangers cars stationed outside..

However , Pakistanis were lucky that in Kamra , the facilities were Miles away from location of entrance , and distance between facilities was too much that no one can do anything for good 30 minutes if they were running on foot

Agree with the dual fence and create a buffer zone around the area. The condition with most of our bases is pretty pathetic. Anyone can stand on the rooftop of a house near the base and look at the aircrafts taking off and landing. Its good that more funds are being allocated to secure our sites

all major military establishments and installations are now heavily 'jammed', meaning that all mobile/cell signals are blocked in the vicinity of these bases. even the military personnel cannot use their mobile devices.

Uh you sure?

Major installations, do some areas in Rwp come into that category?

When did this rule come into effect?
