You're left with nothing to say better and solid when you don't have a proper counter terrorism policy to refer. Do we have one? No, I am afraid we lack one.

Agree with me or not, you can't rule out negotiations completely. If it was all about fire power then US lead forces in Afghanistan would kill each and every Taliban in a period of a decade. TTP is more like an ideology than simply being a terrorist organization and it takes decades to reverse/rectify a contorted ideology. Arms and negotiations (or precisely political moves) go side by side.

Neither we are on a clamp down.!

LAHORE: Tehrik-e-Minhajul Quran leader Dr Allama Muhammad Tahirul Qadri has said that there was a time when the United States helped Pakistan in constructing the Tarbela and Mangla dams, and when we started sheltering terrorist, the drone attacks started.

In an interview on Saturday, Dr Qadri said that no ruler in Pakistan had implemented the articles in the Constitution related to the rights of the people. The Constitution is still suspended in Pakistan. The rulers had made laws and rules repugnant to the Constitution which had to be removed without any delay, he added.

He said the people are lacking awareness and they had again elected those who were disqualified by the Supreme Court on the charge of holding fake degrees.

The political parties are hijacked in this system and the system of winning horses will have to be abolished, he observed, adding: “We can evolve a new structure through adopting good things from all revolutions.”

The Muslim scholar said: “The political ills started in 1989 and I am witness to many interferences, including the fight of the Supreme Court for judicial independence.” He said that a policy to avoid drone attacks can be made. Pakistan, Iran and Afghanistan can emerge as a powerful bloc in the region.

“Had I returned to Pakistan earlier, the people might have been accusing me of wanting to break this government. Five years have now been completed and we will resist bringing similar kind of politicians in the future. There was presence of an ideology during the tenures of Ayub, Bhutto and Benazir Bhutto. Now the entire country can be registered in anybody’s name just for the sake of power,” he said.

“I wanted to restore the politics of Hazrat Umar Bin Abdul Aziz (RA) and the Quaid-i-Azam. We have to wage Jihad against poverty, for the promotion of health and education services, Dr Qadri added.

Expressing his bonds with the Punjab capital city, he said: “I like Lahore and was feeling sad being away from it. I had reserved seats in two or three flights and reached Lahore in accordance with the schedule.”

Counting his achievements, the Tehrik-e-Minhajul Quran leader said: “I am a writer of more than 675 books and millions of copies have so far been sold. The books were written on diverse issues including Hadith, Tasfeer, Fiqah, the Constitution, politics, comparison of Islamic economics with other foreign economics and anti-terrorism. I have not spent a single penny out of my work for my personal gains. I was close to achieving the Nobel Prize but it was given to the European Union at the eleventh hour owing to territorial reasons.”

He said: “I have been a student of the Constitution and have read constitutions of the UK, USA and other countries during my academic stint at the Punjab University.”

Responding to a query, he claimed that the World Economic Forum had given him formal basic membership after thorough research on different institutions and personalities.

“The presidents and prime ministers from 20 countries are members of this forum. They have given me this role for the promotion of international peace, humanities, tolerance and moderation. UNESCO which is part of the United Nations also consults me as I am its special consultant. You will get my entire profile on my website,” he said.

Dr Qadri said: “I have delivered lectures at the Georgetown University in the USA which was attended by US Air Force, marine and armed forces officials and cadets. When I came out of the university after completing my lecture, the armed force officials saluted me and one of the officials told me that it was for the first time in his life that he had saluted any non American.”

Tahirul Qadri tells govt to change system in three weeks

An influential religious leader in Pakistan threatened Sunday to lead a protest march on the capital if the government fails to begin electoral reforms within three weeks.
Addressing a crowd of at least 100,000 in the eastern city of Lahore, Muslim scholar Tahirul Qadri said that meaningful reforms were needed as Pakistan approaches general elections expected in the spring.
"Elections without reforms will be meaningless and people will reject results if they are held under the existing system,":agree: said Qadri, who leads a moderate Islamic group that has thousands of followers in Pakistan and worldwide.
"I give the government a deadline of three weeks to establish an honest and independent body that will introduce electoral reforms and pave the way for free and fair elections."
Qadri said Pakistan's political and economic system had "collapsed", as it revolved around the wealthy, landed aristocrats, and industrialists, and failed to allow honest people to reach parliament.
If the government failed to meet his demands by January 10, then followers of his movement would take part in a "long march" on the capital Islamabad, and would remain there until their demands were met, he said.
Police said at least 100,000 people participated in Sunday's rally.
Qadri leads a group called Tehreek-e-Minhajul Quran -- the movement to follow the path of the Koran -- which has a network of religious and educational institutions.

any way isthe same way now;)

Wrong. you have no idea how PTI works.

You know what is one of the reason, why I am anonymous foot soldier of Imran? because My Leader is always an "sms" away from me...he replies too...

That was a huge Jalsa, much bigger IMO than the IK one.

But the substance was as usual nothing, there was nothing worth discussing except his ultimatum. And why was he against the army throughout rather than politicos?

THE BIG Game to make Pakistan Weaken... If he want shariah, then it was meant to be from those who can actually change the system.. make Pakistani Constitution compliant.. He is sent to increase hatered against army, and stop them their next toke over.. n if happen then Pakistan can being easy pray of So called Peace Mafia (NATO)

You have said the above in derogatory tone; but, foot soldiers of IK don't want anything more. This is what differntiates PTI from PPP and PMLNn.

I think the same as IK. They both think very much alike. Given that Dr. Tahir ul Qadri is not participating in the elections, his reform agenda will very much help IK party.. If you do not allow the corrupt political elite of the current system (who are they heavy weights of other parties) to run in the elections, IK will benefit a lot. Andd ill be very happy :)
