Passing out parade of cadets of 143rd Long Course held at PMA - ISPR

More then any new tank or plane, this is the true power of Pakistan. This is reason are army is admired world over and the reason not matter what equipment we have in our possession, we will remain a formidable military force. The quality of our officers and Men.

Not happy with current recruitment system. It only allows the military to take in 18-22 year olds who will then become yes sir robots with no free thinking or life experiences. And excludes older individuals with university degrees who have more life experience and abilities to give to the military.

I see the point, but issue is PMA Long Course is quite long, 2 years and awards a degree. If PMA took graduates we would have 25-26 year olds joining units as 2nd Lt, which is quite old.

Sandhurst has a 1 year course and accepts both graduates and non graduates, maybe we can shorten the course but unsure how this would effect the quality of training

Here in America 30 year olds join as 2LT it's the mettle of the rank or what you bring to it not age my friend.

I'd slightly differ on this opinion. This is the exact age when these young boys are forged into highly motivated and ideologically robust men in due course of time. No other age group can bring you such high levels in clarity of purpose / mission.
besides, the army has other streams as well where they bring in graduates from all disciplines and universities.
Just for the info here, it is the West Point graduates of the US Army that actually form the crest of top leadership. There have been exceptions of course but West Point rules and same goes for USN and USAF.

PA does takes graduates and theirs a a age relaxation of 2 years fo them.

Each course is now I think 600 or so cadets as there are 4 pak battalions in pms covering all terms
Assuming 80% graduation rate per course that’s 480 officers a course as there are at least two courses per year so pretty much whole pak is represented

I wanted to ask a question that courses like cadets from Army Medical College and EME and MCS etc. They go to PMA for about 6 months for basic training. Are they also part of passing out parade?
