If ISPR comments on sick Kulsoom Nawaz then it's well and good. If ISPR comments on sick economy then it's no no no.

Why should there be no media wing of the army, jo bole ga interior minister bole ga. Point noted for next amendment in army act.

DG ISPR will talk about Pakistan-United States relationship in his presser.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Director General of Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) Major General Asif Ghafoor will hold an important press conference today at 05:00 PM.

According to details, DG ISPR will talk about Pakistan-United States relationship in his presser, and inform about the recovery of US-Canadian couple. Pakistani troops rescued the family in the northwest of the country, near the Afghan border, this week.

American Caitlan Coleman and her Canadian husband, Joshua Boyle, were kidnapped while backpacking in Afghanistan in 2012 by the Taliban-allied Haqqani network.

US President Donald Trump had also praised Pakistani security forces for securing the release of the couple and their three children from Taliban captivity. He praised the Pakistani government and armed forces for the cooperation to rescue the family in an operation.

Sources have further revealed that Major General Asif Ghafoor will also express his viewpoint on the internal affairs of Pakistan in the press conference.

Earlier, DG ISPR said while speaking on the issue of national economy on Dunya News programme ‘Dunya Kamran Khan Kay Sath’ that a country’s economy is closely linked with its security. Pakistan needs to be fully secured for its economy’s boom, he said.

Commenting on Pakistan’s current economy, he said it is not bad but it’s not good either, and we should be united to devise a strategy for the better future of our country.

Interior Minister Ahsan Iqbal reacted to the statement regarding deteriorating economic situation in the country, and suggested Major General Asif Ghafoor to refrain from commenting on the economy in public.

Talking on Friday, he said irresponsible statements have huge impact on international reputation of the country. Resources are also being provided for security operations, he added.

DG ISPR addresses news conference on October 14, 2017. EXPRESS NEWS SCREEN GRAB

Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Director General Major General Asif Ghafoor said on Saturday that he had never said that Pakistan’s economy was unstable.

“I am disappointed by the interior minister’s remarks,” he told reporters when asked about Ahsan Iqbal’s criticism against his comments on country’s economy.

During a press briefing, the ISPR DG showed a clip of his talk with an anchorperson on a private TV channel where he was explaining his comments on the economy earlier that day.

The official said he had only spoken about issues that the army chief had also talked about.

Ghafoor said the rescue of the Canadian-American family had restored a “level of trust” with the US.

“We are glad that there is [still a] level of trust with the US,” the DG said while addressing a news conference.

“If the US want ties with Pakistan based o n trust and cooperation, then we will take every possible measure that is necessary for the country and the region as regards counter-terrorism.”

“This is a new beginning,” Maj Gen Ghafoor remarked.

A trust-based relationship will be mutually beneficial, he added.

However, if a “do more” policy is devised on the basis of providing convenience to a neighbouring country, then that is unacceptable for Pakistan.

On Thursday, Army said it had rescued an American woman and her Canadian husband along with their three young children, who were held hostage by militants in Afghanistan for five years

a day after , Interior Minister Ahsan Iqbal said the chief military spokesperson should not be commenting on national economy.

Earlier in the day, Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi said that military dictatorship always halted progress of the country. The premier further said that the people of Pakistan should decide who they want in the government and who they don’t.

On Thursday, Major General Asif Ghafoor, in an interview with a private TV channel said, “If Pakistan’s economy is not bad, it’s not good either”.

On October 11, Army chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa had voiced concerns at the country’s ‘sky high’ debt and called for broadening tax base and bringing in financial discipline to break the ‘begging bowl’.

70 billion qarza aur 13 billion reserves uss waqt fikar ki baat nahi hoti jab current account surplus main ja raha hota China ki tarah.

Bajwa sahab is focused on doing finer jobs since his assimilation to CAS and shall continue to apply his master strokes with obvious restraints. Army has yet again passed its test case with flying colours and trump is subdued for now.

The alarming part is that the civilian setup has failed in its test in proving itself liberal enough yet again, what shall they stoop to now, due to their failure, to woe needed support shall be no surprise. It looks like that they are willing to put their very faith on the line for their Kingpin so what else is new.

Let's give Sharif Brothers and their Govt. more time and space to dig our hole even deeper and deeper to the point of no return. Allah Subhan Taala behtar karain gay, in sha Allah.

Meanwhile, enjoy the political ineptness of PTI to even woe the disgruntled PMLN MNAs to put pressure on PMLN in parliament or even try to pass a bill of amendments to undo the recent changes. Yes, it is possible if PTI actually starts doing politics outside of its own party rather than within:

Lol, phir pechay bachta kya hay bhai, we have tried talking about timatar k rates and sending Gulalai aqwalezarrin too but without much success or participation.

Lots of rabbits here .... how is the market for this meat in Pakistan? Cost of frozen transportation ... maybe cheaper than timatir if sending a container load ...

Now you'r talking!
But how can i reply without including "you/they should do that, you/they did that, you/they should have done that, you/they shouldn't have done that" regarding Rabbits?

So brother, what say you that we forget about the rabbits and get back to the topic of our rabids.

This group which Hamid Mir is referring; if it's the same that I know of; is of 65, majority of them are Ex Ex PMLN, then Ex PMLQ, some stopped over at PPP in 2008, and now their current pit stop is in PMLN; they are Kings Party's members; they will NEVER join PTI until and unless they are sure that certain directional wind is favouring it (PTI), and when it (wind) starts; they'll be in PTI within a blink of an eye; no amount of wooing (by PTI) can work on them without the favouring wind; it's (politics) their business - and they do not make a deal of loss when they have family/personal vote bank of 100,000 - 150,000.

Another main driver is the Provincial Govt., in Punjab PMLN still has stronger grip than in Federal Govt as of today.

A lot of MNA's decide to stay within the party if their party has government in province (like there are at least 8 MNA's that I can think of from Sindh who stayed with PPP in 2013 as it has Sindh Govt); because they are still "relevant" in power game in their constituencies through provincial government.

Current electoral politics is about viability - there aren't any many JKT and SMQ; who went with PTI knowing that they will be in opposition; believe me it takes extreme strong guts to do it; I am telling this from my own/family experience spread over several elections - even now many of my cousins and relatives are still in PMLN due to dynamics of electoral politics of their constituencies. It’s a mini war between usually two major players and irrespective of party affiliation it’s about being in power- be that party be IJI, PPP, PTI, MQM, PMLN, PMLJ or even MML ;)

This unfortunate situation will remain like this until real land reforms are carried out; which won't be happening anytime soon; as these power hungry legislators (mostly with feudal background) will switch the sides to protect their own interests; one of which is shielding their lands from any divisions :)
