Palm plantation project yielding positive results: Advisor

ARACHI: Adviser to Sindh Chief Minister on Law, Environment and Coastal Development Barrister Murtaza Wahab said on Sunday that extraction of palm oil has been started from Palm Plantation Project in Kathore, the coastal belt of Thatta as the plants had now turned into big trees.

Talking to a delegation of Journalists here, he said the the initiative of Sindh government would certainly help in reducing the import of palm oil that cost the country about $2.2 billion annually.

Barrister Murtaza Wahab said that Chinese and Malaysian experts had described the locally extracted palm oil as of a superior quality.


According to the experts the coastal area of Sindh was ideal for growing palm trees,he said adding Sindh had been blessed with a potentially rich coastal belt.

This money shouldn't go into the hands of PPP/ Sindh government.. otherwise, no benefit.. 2.2 billion dollars will be laundered through foreign accounts.

this alone can solve our problem

I don’t know is it just a rhetoric or an all out statement with out any base on your part. How can you come up with this idea that people are moving away from the palm oil while there will be a record expected 73.6 mt production in 2019. Over 3 billion people in around 150 countries uses palm oil in one way or the another.

Now don’t ask me to prove my stats. Google it by yourself.

But recently health experts have raised concerned about use of palm oil, already western countries have stopped importing palm oil. The biggest importer of palm oil is india and other developing countries and more and more are diversifying. Already malaysian and indonesian palm oil sector is under pressure.
So looking at future trwnd, its better to nkt invest too much in palm oil, its ok for a small sized investment. You can also google about palm oil and how its use is declining.

Palm oil is the most efficient vegetable oil plant ever, their yields and production cost had the highest possible return of investment compared to other plants. For the western countries right now engaging war against palm oil solely to protect their own farmer who cultivate rapeseed,cannoli ,sun flower, corns, soybean and so on.

Banaspati ghee is result of Hydrogenation of ANY VEGETABLE OIL to give it animal fat characteristics..it is taught in pakistan in 10th grade chemistry
Ghee is bad for health primary due to two reasons
1. Because of impurities in the process done in comerical process
2. Less likely due to high cholesterol content

1. Because of impurities in the process done in comerical process
2. Less likely due to high cholesterol content

A simple google search would show u health issues from palm oil. It has saturated fats and its taught in 10th grade biology that saturated fats cause heart diseases and is bad for health.
With low consumption it might be ok but a high oil consuming society like Pakistan should not increase palm oil use.
