Ask US/NATO to bring in 100-150K more troops and seal the border and kill whatever moves across the border, while doing that, they should concentrate retaking the more then 70% of Afghanistan in Taliban hands and dismantle the infrastructure being used by the Talibans for attacks in Afghanistan and across Pakistan.

We have done enough, its now US/NATO turn to do their real job.

I am not making any threats, none at all. If you think Pakistan can maintain its current stand, I can only wish you luck, if indeed that is what you want.

Then why is US and NATO officials asking us to open the route ?? You have the Iranian route, Russian route is open, what;s the big deal in Pak route is not money ??

They have the other routes and are open.

exactly! and time and time again why dont they just opt for the alternatives rather than on one hand say "alternate options exist and we will analyze those options" and then on the other hand say "we sincerely hope Pawwwwwwkistan will reopen the supply routes and we have voiced this to them" etc. etc.


(and then on the OTHER hand -- since there are many hands, "we are studying ways to penalize Pakistan and may impose sanctions if they fail to coooperate in opening the supply routes)

Who will ask them for additional forces? The drawdown will be implemented by 2014 and limited forces will remain in place till at least 2024. That deal is done.

US/NATO forces ARE doing their real job: protecting USA and NATO countries.

Yeah that is what the ordinary people of pakistan and the armed forces guys want.

Its 0.5 billion per year ..they are already trimming the aid money to pakistan ..it wont be a big burden to them

In the larger scheme of things $1-2 Billion is not a big deal for the US but its not because they get money offset due to aid not going to Pakistan. The aid to Pakistan is never real money. Most of the military aid is used to fund weapons manufacturers within the US and secondly, the aid is never disbursed all at once. Its spread over, stopped then resumed etc. etc.

There is a converging interest in opening the supply because it helps keep the US timetable on track for withdrawing which helps Pakistan's own internal dynamics with TTP (who really don't have a cause over which they can create trouble after the bulk of American withdrawal), but the issue on both sides is that the attacks against Pakistani positions have been talked up so much by both sides that both need a face saving way out. For the American government, during an election year apologizing to a smaller country like Pakistan would be a boon for the republicans against Obama et-al. For Pakistan, the death of the soldiers and non-forthcoming apology issues are all in front of a public that is watching every move the GoP makes in this regard.

At the end of the day, some deal would have to be made to get things going. One thing for sure, neither side will be able to hang on to their "principled" stand on this issue. There will have to be some giving in by both sides.

People like you and Solomon, who come here and bash us, but don't have the courage to ask your representatives that how come we sent 400k to Iraq, while hardly 100K in Afghanistan.

Exactly, they are doing that job well enough, but who will protect the Afghan people who are suffering due to your guys incompetence. 400K soldiers for a 438Km2 country and 100K for a 647Km2 country, figure and facts speak for themselves.

Who the fcuk is stopping from reprimanding us ?? Did we ask them not to reprimand us ?? If US can go into UNSC and lie to the whole world about WMDs in Iraq and then invading and killing thousands, what is now stopping US and its fellow allies from doing that.

Don't come here and lecture us, the same US has been behind such people in its past and present. for their own objectives, they have killed millions and now when others do the same, its hurts the arse of US. pathetic.

Drones will not do the job, it can do the job against AQ, but not against Taliban.

well first things first....the Americans need to sit together and ensure they are on the same page first (i.e. State & Pentagon/Langley)


how is it that Vice President Biden is on record having stated that "taleban are not the enemy"

so maybe in the interests of minimizing confusions, they need to actually sit down and spend some time to "figure things out".....maybe they can do that during this Chicago meeting, it will be to their own benefit

What will happen in futre if this bad blood continues to flow ? you already travelled physically a long way though in mind you may have had something else..nothing matters now ..people are emotional fools ..if govt makes its vital policies on peoples emotion than its a blunder .. Future would have been perfect if you whole heartedly supported this war on terror and won it with your allies ..you would have been out of those daily bomb syndrom and your reputation on world stage would have raised ..importantly extremist forces would have died their natural death and then you are ripe for a economic boom...
Now if you continue to remain in negative list of developed countries what will be your future ? What about extremism inside ? Another three years either you have to act tough and smart or you have to face the ugly truth ..

This whole WOT terror was not supported whole heartily by anyone, be it Pakistan, US or NATO.

US/NATO were not serious from day one.

After decade of war and siding by them, it seems its now obvious to us that US & NATO were not serious also and don't want to end this war.
