it is worth considering the claims that the establishment in Pakistan may be exaggerating the population of Punjab while diminishing the population of other states and union territories. Such actions could be aimed at justifying a disproportionate budget allocation towards Punjab and perpetuating Punjabi hegemony in the parliament and the army.

Well punjab and kpk are in mood to sway towards establishment at he moment, so its in their interest to make sure the proportion of seats increwase in sindh and balochistan`s favor!
as far as punjab population goes,as a punjabi, i know its much more than reported!! cant say anything about kpk only someone living there can tell the reality!

Sindh around 58 million people
Increase of 21%

KPK around 40 million people
Increase of around 19%

Balochistan around 22 million people
Increase of a whopping 78%!!

Federal territory - 2.3 million people
Increase of 17%

Gilgit Baltistan and AJk - 5.9 million people

Pakistan overall went from 207 million people to 249 million people (without GB and AJk)

20% overall increase!! Wtf..

About right yet we still have many Pakistani posters writing about 220 million, a number passed ages back.
