No ABM gives an ASSURED defence against nuclear or conventional projectiles but gives impetus to dangerous thinking of believing so. It also triggers development of more and more advanced delivery systems by hostile nation to regain nuclear parity. There is no end to counter--counter counter--counter counter counter......weapons in arms race. Nations will do whatever it takes to keep the balance. ABMs will only serve to increased defence spending in region but they won't make India anymore secure.
