Pakistan's NSA : 10 terrorists have entered Gujarat

Breaking : AHMEDABAD/PATHANKOT: Gujarat was put on a state of high alert on Saturday following an intelligence input from Pakistan's National Security Adviser (NSA) Nasir Khan Janjua to his Indian counterpart Ajit Doval that 10 terrorists had entered the state to carry out strikes.

Intelligence agencies believe this infiltration is aimed at creating disturbances on or around Shivaratri which falls on Monday. Pakistan's NSA has informed that these are fidayeen from the Lashkar-E-Taiba and Jaish-eMuhammed cadres.

Following Doval's communication to Gujarat, security has been stepped up at sensitive installations, places of worship and public places. This is the first time that Pakistan has shared such specific intelligence.

All security agencies in Gujarat have been placed on a state of high alert and despatched to specific locations which are vulnerable. The state director general of police P C Thakur convened an emergency meeting on the issue and alerts were sounded off in all major cities and districts.

Meanwhile, in Pathankot, Western Army Commander Lt Gen K J Singh told reporters, "There are security-related problems today. You know, Maha Shivratri is coming. There are inputs which are disturbing but notwithstanding that extra care has been taken."When asked to elaborate on the inputs, he refused but said such events are planned to create "maximum media impact" given the fact that the Parliament session is on and a major festival is round the corner.

Ahmedabad: In a first, Pakistan has shared a specific intelligence input with India related to possible terror strikes by Lashkar-E-Taiba and Jaish-e-Muhammed's suicide bombers.
Pakistan's National Security Adviser (NSA) Nasir Khan Janjua has shared an intelligence input with Ajit Doval that 10 terrorists had entered Gujarat to carry out strikes.

Gujarat has been put high alert on Saturday in the wake of the intelligence input. Also, security measures have been heightened at all the sensitive ares, places of worship and public places in the state. Also, two NSG teams rushed to Gujarat and put on stand following high level alert.

"We had received inputs from Centre on Saturday; we've issued an high alert," Gujarat Home Minister Rajni Patel.

"Gujarat police is on alert. Guj government had asked Centre for NSG teams and the teams have arrived in the state," Patel added.

Important monuments and pilgrimage centres like Somnath temple, Dwarka Temple, Akashardham, power plants, defence, dams like Sardar Sarovar Dam and security establishments have also been put on alert.

The warning from Pakistan comes after five abandoned Pakistani boats found in the past three months in Kutch.

According to the input shared by Pakistan's NSA, these 10 terrorists are suicide bombers from the Lashkar-E-Taiba and Jaish-e-Muhammed outfits. Intelligence agencies believe that this infiltration is aimed at creating disturbances on or around Mahashivaratri which falls on Monday.
Reportedly, Gujarat DGP PC Thakur has convened an emergency meeting on the sensitive matter and alerts were sounded in all major cities and districts of the state. Also, issuing a notification, the DGP cancelled the leave of all police officers and personnel till further directives.
Reportedly, a plan of action was also decided in a high-level meeting of top cops of the state.

Earlier, on Saturday, Western Army Commander Lt Gen KJ Singh had disclosed in Pathankot on Saturday that there are some “disturbing” inputs about a terror attack in India aimed at creating the “maximum media impact” during the Shivratri festival and the ongoing Parliament session. He assured that steps have been taken to deal with it.
“There are security-related problems today. You know, Mahashivratri is coming. There are inputs which are disturbing but notwithstanding that extra care has been taken,” Lt Gen KJ Singh told reporters on the sidelines of a function.

When asked to elaborate, he refused but said such events are planned to create “maximum media impact”.

If that's the case Pakistani establishment must take out the leadership of LeT, JeM and other similar terror organizations out. Although this is a welcome step but Pakistan needs to take much harder steps within it's own territory to make sure peace process doesn't get affected by such "non state" actors.
