Pakistan's Loss: A Disaster or a Blessing

Whatever happened after Rashid Minhas Martyrdom and Motiur treachery was a blanket action not aimed at MM Alam only but to all staff of PAF who had a certain risk attacked to them until they are cleared.
So your claim that MM Alam Was grounded just after Bangladeshi independence just because he was Bengali is proved wrong by yourself.
MM Alam got his due respect throughout his life regardless of his ethnicity.

Just to add that the same MM Alam was serving in Syria in 1974 during Arab Israel war

So he wasn't banned from flying after all, as most claim.
PAF wasn't stupid enough to waste a talent like MM Alam just because he was Bengali.

Growth is forecast for 2017 at 5.2% (ADB).

However - I stand by what I've said before. A way must be found in Pakistan for a couple of things,
  1. Mass Education for Women
  2. Mass Employment for Women (in endeavors like garments or other professions)
Unless you accord women better choices than being barefoot, pregnant and in the kitchen (figuratively speaking), then population will not come down. Regrettably only Pakistan is in that boat in the subcontinent - with very high population rates - that shows no signs of subsiding.

Bangladesh - by the way, has more girls than boys in school for the last decade or so because of govt. incentives.
You should also look into what happened in 1974?

Tell us how many primary and secondary school Pakistan have? What is the percentage of children studying in those school? We know very well, rather than doing grassroots development,Pakistanis are fond of bravado project like funding lavishly to few university rather than building thousands of primary and secondary school.Budget money, whatever left after filling the belly of generals goes to building shiny motorway in few cities for the benefit of urban elite.Forget about imbalance among the provinces, there are huge imbalance even within north Punjab and south Punjab, between Lahore and Rest of Punjab. This type of development which serves only elite while neglecting the rest is not suitable for us,may be it can work in Pakistan.
Lahore gets 58pc share in development budget

Corruption Index 2016

Pakistan ranked 116
BD ranked 145

Pakistan has been consistently improving its score in corruption while BD is stagnant . BD is so corrupt its citizens are not allowed outgoing money through western union and money gram . So while you talk of corruption you might to look inwards and see that Pakistan is a good 30 positions ahead .

Development in our cities is much ahead of anything that you guys have . There is no comparison between Lahore or Dhaka . While Having a world class city like Islamabad is simply out of the equation for you guys .

We had a women head of state before you , one of the few countries in the world which has women fighter pilots . Women in Pakistan have achieved much more internationaly than BD in recent times . We have a women winning an oscar twice ( Sharmeen Obaid chinoi ) .

You also have one of the highest child bride rates in the world . You might want to look into that .

Nah that wasn't my claim. I claimed pilots and officers of Bengali origin on the armed forces after matiurs treason were grounded during the war. Not post independence

All those bickering about Finances also look at certain facts .
The largest dam and to this date the only hydal power project in Bangladesh the Kaptai dam was built by Ayub Khan during Union era when Bangladesh was part of Pakistan. To this date Bangladesh didn't build another such dam

Bangladesh atomic energy commission was created same time at Pakistan atomic energy commission and Bangladesh got full fledged nuclear laboratories for research including particle accelerator, during Union era.
After separation Pakistan went on to become nuclear power while Bangladesh shut down their nuclear program on Indian instructions.
Bangladesh paper and textile industry were created by investors from west Pakistan which remains the backbone of Bangladeshi economy to this date.
Banking system in Bangladesh was created by Habib family the owners of Habib bank and also current owners of Toyota Pakistan.
Ayub Khan launched cheap housing schemes in east Pakistan, something he never launched in west Pakistan. Even a Bengali cycle rickshaw driver could buy a home.

Also let's not forget the two of Pakistan air force's greatest pilots Saiful Azim and MM Alam were both Bengalis and to this date our national heroes.
Bengali fought with us against India in 1965 war and ever their women volunteered to go to front lines and fight. So never underestimate Bengali bravery or their will to fight for the right cause. But same as us they need sincere political leadership which same as us they don't get.
MM Alam was Bihari.

These threads clear up some of the relentless propaganda Sheikh Haseena wajid keeps feeding the Bengali people about Pakistan. Also goes t show most Pakistanis are happy for Bangladesh being a sovereign and prosper country but would have been better if the two countries still remained in some form of union no matter how lose the union may have been with most of the autonomy to Bangladesh.
The Bangladeshi freedom was Rushed by Sheikh Mujeeb for his own political benefits. His bad planning made banglaeshi people suffer a lot. Food shortage hit Bangladesh soon after Independence and famine killed million and a half Bengali until 1974 before conditions improved a bit mainly due to foreign aid from west and arab nations.
Mujeeb could have made adeal with his buddy Zulfiqar Bhutto for starting a political process of Bangladeshi autonomy and exited peacefully in better conditions.
On the other hand nothing really happened to west Pakistan after Bangladeshi independence.

Bangladesh is 30 positions behind Pakistan in Transperancy Corruption Index .

Don't forget that Pakistan has also improved its corruption score since 2012.....whereas BD is at exact same bad score since then (stagnant). (EDIT: ignore, you have already addressed in post 64)

Also have you checked out Food Security Index bro?

http://foodsecurityindex.eiu.com/Country

Pakistan does a lot better than Bangladesh. It has a lot of detailed component indices (like diet diversification and protein quality where BD does lot lot worse than Pakistan and India) worth checking out as well.

unlike propaganda spread by Bengali people all previous constitution proposed equal rights for two units, this was cancelled in 1970s election, given Bangladesh had more population than west, this let mr rehman to form a govt in both units without gaining a single seating in west and refused to even let western parties in forming the new constitution

Sir can you point me to some resources that go into depth about this? Thank you.

. . .
was it a disaster or a blessing?

blessing because punjabis got homeland to rule and bengalis got homeland no more interdependence on each other no more federal structure no more crying about one dominating the other. win-win situation for both

Allah swt has said in the Holy Quran that we have been made into nations and tribes so we may know each other.

so if nations and tribes are amalgated randomly what's the point of existence of nations, tribes. instead we have alliances.

only regret is that separation should have been peaceful. like czech republic and slovakia.
So since most Pakistani pdfers agree its a blessing for Pakistan , how come you guys have never thanked India for the planning , effort and expenditure put into it !!
You are Welcome.

I don't care which kind of development you are talking about.City's importance lies in it's economy.Lahore has GDP and population less than half of Dhaka.Islamabad is a small city of 2 million.Latest data are hard to find for cities concerned here.According to McKinsy2010,GDP-
Dhaka-29 billion
Karachi-28 billion
Lahore-13 billion
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_cities_by_GDP

Chittagong's GDP is not much lower than Lahore. It is the center of trade and industry of BD and have highest per capita income. It's population more than 6 million.

Islamabad is rich but small. It is not very hard to create a planned city of rich for 1 percent of national population.I don't see any credit about having Islamabad being so nice.Pakistan was without any city suitable for capital(Karachi,Lahore are much vulnerable of Indian attack which mostly influenced for going after Islamabad). So a military dictator decided to build a city from scratch just besides of military headquarter. So it is small, planned and beautiful inhabited mostly by elite.

What most important is,Urbanization rate.In 1960 Bangladesh or East Pakistan had only 5 percent population urban while west Pakistan had 22 percent population urban. But in 2015,BD have urban population 34 percent and Pakistan 39 percent. So,Bangladesh started from bottom, now approaching Pakistan level. If BD was East Pakistan I don't think it would have crossed even 10 percent by now.

This article, written by a Pakistani and published in Pakistan in 2014, states some real-life reasons why Bangladesh is doing just a bit better. Bangladesh has a long way to go and we certainly still have to call it a dump (as the rest of South Asia is), but please read and you will find out maybe a few things Pakistan could change - for the better............

While Islamabad is nice, I can't fathom how a planned capital city akin to Washington D.C. (albeit at a smaller scale) helps the economy of Pakistan other than a few elite group of people? In my mind all it would be is a place where the elite would sequester themselves from the real situation of the populace....

Wouldn't SEZ's need to come first - to employ mass numbers of people that need to work?

Does Karachi have SEZ's (Special Economic Zones) which are 'import-tariff-free areas' to produce goods?

What effect does a regional single-town economy like Sialkot have on the export picture? How many Billions get exported from there per year?
