Pakistan's indigenous armed drone conducts first night-time strike

it makes me laugh when people claim buraaq is our own, when its basically the CH-3 the airframe is the same, ppl on here claim the missiles are developed by our own scientist from hellfire missiles which landed in pakistan, the missiles look exactly the same as the chinese ones, the only thing which was done ourselves was the paint job.

You don't need to reinvent the wheel. The Buraq was a necessity and the Americans weren't willing to give us the predator. We used an off-the-shelf design from China (CH3) and fit it with our own equipment - how hard is that to understand? The Barq missile was probably developed with the help of China.

Pakistan's armed forces claimed on 22 October to have successfully carried out the first ever night-time attack on a Taliban target using the indigenously built Burraq unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV).

It followed Pakistan's claim on 7 September that it carried out the first ever UAV attack on a Taliban location using the Burraq, although that attack was conducted during the day.

The inter-services public relations (ISPR) directorate of the armed forces stated in an announcement on 22 October, "Several militants were killed during the strike. It was first night strike by Burraq with pinpoint accuracy." A precise location for the attack was not given, although the announcement said it was carried out in South Waziristan: a region adjacent to Pakistan's border with Afghanistan with a strong Taliban presence.

That's fantastic, but we just saw the lives of seven of our FC brothers taken away. These drones need to be all over the skies above the borders and launching pre-emptive and supportive strikes. Yes, I know it will take time, but every life is priceless.

what does Fc stand for?

also don't you think ch-3 is more for close air support rather than border patrols and long range strikes?
what would be a good idea. is for pakistan to bite and take and the tai anka series uav's/ucav's either the anka-tp or the block 2. this is a good idea as pakistan is getting the best tech, also it can also implement it on other airframes in the future.

TAI ANKA is good but is it a true MALE UAV??

If you have gone through threads then you may have found thread about Chinese offer to jointly develop CH-5 MALE UCAV with Pakistan, which may suit Pakistan more due to various reasons.

New CH-5 drone can carry 8 AR-1 missiles and FT-7 bombs|WCT
