What's new

Pakistan's Growing Heavybike Scene

helmet saved my life once in the past.....in fact, i still have the helmet that saved my life. It's sitting in a box somewhere at home in Peshawar.

it serves as a reminder......all the gashes and cuts and scratches on the helmet and the visor could have been my head/face

But most of the times helmets cause accidents, yes because of being fully closed and on sub continent roads riders have no thought for riding rules and cross twist around.

Not to say helmets do cause dandruff problem very easily.

but when the time comes for you to face-plant; at least you are surrounded by hard plastic and padding.....it's harder to break than skin and skull bones

and believe me, if you ride long enough -- it is GUARANTEED that you will wreck. Every single motorcycle rider out there no matter where they are in the world -- will wreck one day. I've had 2 spills, 1 which was really bad (was my fault).

True on that, been riding for a long time had two major and two minor falls. Somehow never got to adjust for helmet, still ride without it.

It's a decision you make. You'll live with that choice.

Be careful out there

P.s. you can get open face helmets if you are concerned about heat and humidity. We all know how hot it is in summer season. But dripping sweat is better than spilling brains

Helmet saved my life too!! But its not a 600 cc bike but a 150 cc pulser..

I used to ride bike with out any Helmet and one fine day our High Court made a decision to make Helmet compulsory..

There were heavy checking in the road by police to implement this and I was forced to wear a helmet..

I was hit by a car on the way to see my friend and I was thrown away from ma bike and my head hit the road in such a force that I was not able to move my neck for some days..

I keep that helmet with me in my showcase even though I am not using it now,to remind me how much lucky I am..

I bought 3-4 helmets after that but still I never sold that old helmet!! :D

Nice bikes. Awesome bikes. But riding those without protective gear = morons.

I am a fierce advocate of using riding gear. The sub-continent is sadly filled with such morons who think that their testosterone will protect them in a crash.
