Pakistan's first indigenous armed drone "BURAQ" kills 3 militants in Shawal: ISPR

.....................................Great News.

.
i claimed nothing i just gave you official statements from the company from 6 years ago. To prove that Pakistan has been developing drones from almost a decade ago. Finally it has learnt how to Arm them with a bomb be it dumb or guided that might be debatable.

yet you are grasping straws here. you want me to dig up company balance sheets of a PRIVATE company for what purpose i don't understand . So i would rather you do that yourself.

Again, you made claims and i queried about your statements which you failed to provide, but made counter question to escape from my query.Any way let's close the chapter...

LET ME correct you. you claimed that this is a paint job of a Chinese drone. However, you failed to provide any source or proof. except a "gut feeling".

then you diverted the topic to figures of a privately owned company. I have provided you with their contact details you may get in touch and ask yourself.

How would that prove that this is a paint job of a chinese drone after attaining the figures i fail to understand.

with gut feelings the problem is india's pride the ARHIANT too could be classified as a paint job. However, gut feelings can't be accepted.

.
I will strongly support the idea to export it to other 3rd world countries such as India .... that might be helpful for them in their cause of fight against Naxalite & Maoist insurgencies ....

The 3rd world country as per your opinion has all these, may i know what world you are living 10th or 11th ?
Even though india is have short comings still...

1. India is the 7th largest economy by nominal and 3rd largest by GDP PPP

2. India is the 3rd largest producer of electricity, the state like gujarat produce more electricity than whole pakistan

3. India now become 3rd largest consumer of oil overtaking japan

4. India going to overtake japan in 2016 as the 2nd largest producer of steel

5. India road and rail network is one of the biggest in the world

Tall claims !! Its good the so called UAV Buraq or chinese CH-3 armed with Burq or chinese AR-1 missile is working for the pakistani army against the insurgent but claiming Pakistan to be the first other than USA to develop, fly test and use these indigenous stuff is more influenced with the national pride rather than reality.

Lets see whether Pakistan have the capability to produce something about this magnitude.

1. Pakistan hasn’t cultivated a indigenous Engine programs.
2. Pakistan hasn’t made major break troughs in sensors programs.
3. Pakistan hasn’t made any break troughs in the Wind tunnel technology that is a crucial deciding feature in the designing of a UAV.

These are the basic technologies involved in the developing a credible UAV system. Even if the engines and sensor suite are imported the design phase itself is an extremely sophisticated process. Developing and installing the engines and sensor suite is an extremely cumbersome process.

Looking at the picture as a layman person I can very well see its just paint job of chinese CH-3.
speaking of drones, what happened to that plastic cr4p you guys flew at LOC? the one we brought down with friggin assault rifles:rofl:

Plz ban all dumb hating trolls at once from this thread we are trying to enjoy the good news which they can't seem to digest .

Show me where i said that it's a paint job? Don't expose you as a liar....

If you are exporting drone technology to west as per your claim, then why you don't like to share the technology to China after all china is a 125 billion dollar military budget.

It was @knight11 who was going on about a paint job and then you jumped in to troll.

So @Technogaianist @Nihonjin1051 - What do you guys make of our newest baby ? :azn:

She's beautiful:smitten:. And teeth already:o:?

They grow up so fast. Next thing you know they're shooting lasers out their midsections:lol:. I'm so proud:pakistan:!

This drone and prospects of better ones being built and used by Pakistan could be a force multiplier of sorts....right ? :what:

Yes, definitely and I'll explain why.

1. Cost. UAVs, compared to manned aircraft, even smaller ones for COIN operations like the Textron Scorpion or YAK-130 are comparatively cheaper. For the cost of one YAK-130 - $15 Million USD, one could build several UAVs.

Yak-130

2. Personel. UAVs save lives by removing the pilot from harms way.

osh_muas-12.jpg

Instead of being in the line-of-fire, you can put the drone there and keep the operator miles from the action. This saves lives and keeps costs down - unmanned aircraft are cheaper then manned ones.

3. Flexibility. Drone can respond to fluid situations more quickly that can artillery, soldiers or even manned aircraft that need time to prepare - unless you have them on a response standing. They can loiter, pick their targets, track them and attack when necessary.

Fire-Shadow-Loitering-Munition1.jpg

4. Flexibility part 2. Drone can act as mobile communications, IRS or control node that can be used to coordinate actions, "walk-in" artillery fire and track moving or fleeing targets in real time.

Even beyond the battlefield, drone capabilities allow for a more flexible response - in this case walking-in a rescue team to an injured individual.

5. Size. Unless you are China, Japan (who's buying one) or the US, you probably don't have large drones like Global Hawk. For regional conflict - especially against militants and for monitoring Indian movements along their shared border, Pakistan can leverage a drones small dimensions to conduct ISR with direct actions without drawing too much attention to itself. When flying low, fast and if the drone is small, it has a good chance to avoid radar and visual detection.

This allows from surprise attacks on militants who would flee at the first sight of a manned aircraft:

Drone+Survival+Guide.jpg

6. Swarms. This ties into flexibility, as it's an added capability not found on manned aircraft due to their high operating cost, but smarms of low-cost suicide or non-suicide drones became a headache really quickly for an adversary. It's likely they wont see them all, due to the drones low size, but the drone - being an excellent ISR platform, will see them.

Using low-cost swarms to saturate an enemy is one way Pakistan can overcome India's numerical advantage in ground platforms. Drones can be put in the line-of-fire, expend Indian air-defense weapons, forcing missile launches against decoys or low-value targets, they can attack critical infrastructure, troops and machinery and cause havoc without endangering Pakistani lives.

7. Another flexibility concern, but drones fit the "force-multiplier" description magically. As noted above, they can respond more quickly than artillery, but what if you don't need them too? What if you have them respond at the same time?

Think. Artillery hammering tank formations, drones hitting troop movements, tracking reinforcements and using their cameras, directing artillery strikes against them, all the while freeing up the PAF to conduct deep-penetration missions and clear the skies over water. It's scary. A combined force featuring drones, ground, air and naval assets is straight out of the US Military's playbook. It's time for Pakistan to adopt it too.

8. Domestic production. JF-17 aside, Pakistan's domestic aeronautics production capabilities are lagging behind most other large nations. Drones offer them an avenue to "cut their teeth" make some waves and potentially gain an upperhand on regional rivals - especially when paired with Chinese expertise. A few exports never hurt anyone either.

This is yesterday's news, most of us will not make tall claims as its embarrassing there after if proved wrong

GABORONE, Botswana — Indian military vehicle manufacturers have joined the scramble for the African defense market with Tata Motors and Ashok Leyland delivering nearly 1,200 vehicles to at least six African armies between February and July.

In July, Ashok Leyland delivered 633 out of an order of 670 troop carriers, buses, transport trucks, water tankers, fuel tankers, fire-tenders, ambulances and light commercial vehicles ordered by the Zimbabwe Defense Forces late last year. The equipment was acquired at a cost of US $50 million secured from India's Exim Bank.

A Zimbabwean government official who declined to be identified told the privately owned Zimbabwe Independent business weekly that Ashok Leyland will also provide training for Zimbabwean technical staff in vehicle operation and maintenance.

“The vehicles, which include military tankers, trucks and buses, have been delivered and are being kept at the Zimbabwe National Army Ordnance Supply Depot in Harare pending distribution to various Army bases around the country," said the official.

He said the vehicles were ordered under cover of the Ministry of Hospitality and Tourism to avoid a political backlash from opposition and civil rights groups who have protested against the prioritization of military acquisitions in a country with pressing social and economic problems.

The Army declined to comment on the delivery, but Hospitality and Tourism Minister Walter Mzembi confirmed it, saying some of the vehicles will be used to promote tourism and undertake anti-poaching operations while the rest will be used by other government departments, which include the Army and the police.

Speaking at a ceremony held at the port of Mumbai, India, on July 26, Exim Bank Managing Director Yaduvendra Mathur said the bank's Buyer Credit initiative, which falls under the National Export Insurance Account, is a unique mechanism that provides safe financing options to Indian exporters and helps them gain access to new markets in developing countries.

Indian defense market analyst Nitin Mehta told Defense News that the Zimbabwean contract presents a unique opportunity for Ashok Leyland to consolidate its position in the African defense market, which is predicted to grow to $20 billion by 2020.

“The contract with a private sector defense company is the beginning of a new market opportunity in Africa and the growing Indian defense market," Mehta said.

In addition to Zimbabwe, Ashok Leyland is supplying the same vehicle configurations to the Tanzanian People's Defense Force at a cost of nearly $35 million. Commenting on the Zimbabwean and Tanzanian orders, Ashok Leyland Managing Director Vinod Dasari said the company deliberately shifted its focus to meet the needs of the African military and commercial vehicle markets to boost sales.

"These projects are a continuation of the many pilot projects we have done across Africa to offer integrated solutions and these orders have been won in the face of stiff global competition. It is very encouraging to see our efforts bear fruit. I am confident this is the beginning of a successful new area of enhanced cooperation between Ashok Leyland, Africa and our valued customers," Dasari said.

He said the company previously supplied military vehicles to Kenya, Djibouti and the Seychelles, while Botswana ordered a limited number of its commercial trucks and buses for use by government departments.

At the same time, Tata Motors announced it delivered 550 out of the 585 military vehicles ordered for at least four African armies taking part in the United Nations Multi-dimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in Mali (MINUSMA) peacekeeping force in Mali.

The vehicles include troop carriers, water and fuel tankers, recovery and refrigeration trucks and buses. Vernon Noronha, Tata Motors vice president for defense and government business, told Indian newspaper The Hindu that the company has expanded its range of products to meet the military demands of Africa and other regions of the developing world.

“Tata Motors exports its range of specialized defense vehicles to South America, Asia and the African regions. With its rich portfolio of multi-axle 12x12, 8x8 and 6x6 heavy-duty vehicles, the company has started supplying vehicles across the world, having established itself as a supplier of specialist vehicles. We have already delivered 550 units to Mali and we are in the process of delivering the rest," Noronha said.

Apart from Africa, Tata Motors last year won a contract to supply 1,239 high-mobility vehicles with cargo cranes and 500 units of General Service vehicles to the Myanmar Army and the Malaysian Army.

He said the company is looking to expand the export of troop and weapons carrying variants of military vehicles to more countries in the North African and Middle Eastern regions in the near future.

Indian Companies Stake Claim to African Vehicle Market

My response to all of this is:

"Who said I was talking about India!!!!???!!!!":hitwall:

As noted in the OP, Pakistan's drone are being turned on militants within their own country!

I made several passing remarks about India, yes I acknowledge that, but the whole post was a reference to Pakistan's counter-insurgency operations.

...

If I wanted to analyze their effectiveness against Indian military, control or command assets I would have, but you blew that up far beyond what I said.

No issues, I apologize if the context was as stated above, I read through the post and thought it was a comprehensive analysis of utility of drones with India, COIN ops and other threats factored in. I acknowledged the role of drones in COIN ops and other missions but clarified it would have limited utility in conflict with India.

Regards

Yes it's a third in world as per GDP PPP.What about your country and in which state your country lyes on above parameters?

So in that case ,what i have to tell your country ?

Show me where i said that it's a paint job? Don't expose you as a liar....
but India has all the tech support from Israel and many countries.

.
Same applies for India. None of Indian programs are ingenuously developed but rather TOT of western/isreali technologies with "made in india" tag.

Can you be more specific than invisible bug buster.

@knight11 since you seem so adamant and you did mention the word circus.
What would you term as a circus, a project which is made public after getting certified or the one that keeps making headlines for giving deadlines on FOC, or the manufacturers are compelled to release statements on every turn and twist it executes.
For argument sake, like the carry on with your LCA project, how many aircraft producers around the world give press release on their projects achieving any milestones, like weapon releasing or clearing on hot and high tests....on the contrary, Pakistan went about it quietly like most when testing and evaluating on the JF-17 was done...similar applies on other defence related equipment produced by Pakistan.....as for the paint job, what a coincidence, DRDO must be carrying the same practice with their Rustom .
You have taken the word circus too seriously but now since you are putting so much emphasis on that this the first time read the word circus in a journal written by Sqn Ldr (Retd) SHUAIB ALAM KHAN

extract from the article
"The PAF was also a circus outfit and it performed many air displays, always very good ones. Should we not have flown air combat, strike and ground support missions in Kashmir instead of 'watch and ward and air displays?"

The Fighter Gap - 1

Yor are unrelatedly bringing LCA in this but if ADA are more open in showing any milestone or after any test and its outcome (not the technical variables and figures)in its press release and can be reviewed and questions can be asked for future steps is there any problem to you. Now tell me how many country in the world or airforce wants hot wheather, cold wheather, high altitude test prior to induction and tests are carried out in such extreme conditions before FOC. If IAF wants them they are the users and can demand such things from the manufacturer/designer can't say same for the JF-17 even Pakistani cannot tell because it was desinged, developed by the CALTIC China. Yes Pakistan is the joint development partner of JF-17 which is bieng assembled in Kamra from the kits but the contribution is very very less.

did you read the link i shared? or you just thought's let's troll first then check?

NOT ARMED drones. We are exporting basic drones. unarmed. but ofcourse i understand your pain.

Mr. Ice i am not interested in the license assembling of uav which is making you so proud just tell me is atleast any uav engine assembling carried out. Even the chinese flying toys available on net which your army had shot in the name of indian spy drone are called drone.

bar the genuinely ignorant posters here who don't know much about the drone program. I can say most of the people who have been following the story of Pakistani drones, know well that this industry is well established among public and private sector and has regular Western customers including Americans. instead of providing the nay sayer's the ease of link I will expect them to look up our private industry websites and their customers.

you are correct that no company publishes every milestone to appease the critics and butthurt community specially the military drones (and more specifically armed versions) are highly classified and no amount of baiting by some Indians will result in any one of divulging more than what is already a public knowledge. I request all other people who happen to know people involved in the drone program, not to be tempted to share something which is supposed to be a classified. you will not only put your self in trouble but also compromise security and get your source guy in trouble too.

May be you are right but if even the specification is called classified than you need not to worry because no one have any information except NESCOM and intra classified information with China Aerospace Science and Technology Corp (CASC) and AVIC Defense. Our chinese CH-3 specification is multi-purpose medium-range UAV system suitable for battlefield reconnaissance, artillery fire adjustment, data relay and electronic warfare. The CH-3 can be armed with twin laser-guided AR-1 anti-armour missiles, has a cruising speed of 220kph, 12-hour maximum endurance, and a 200km line-of-sight communications radius.

It was @knight11 who was going on about a paint job and then you jumped in to troll.

I am expressing my views and what make you think i am trolling here ;if you think its flawed prove it with facts.
