Setting up an ABM defence umbrella will be back-breaking expensive and won't guarantee 100% fool proof defence. Considering short distance between the two countries and very low detection/reaction time, some nukes will definitely get through, thus rendering the whole investment useless. Instead of wasting money on defensive tech, we should go ape crazy on developing aggressive tech as in thousands of nukes. Be aggressive in our forward defence approach and launch massive first strike, 1000's of nukes in one go on all known key nuclear installations, nuke launch facilities, civilian and military leadership locations, cantonments, air bases, naval installation, large population centers, food producing areas, dams, etc., followed by another massive salvo in 15 seconds followed by another in 15 seconds. No ABM in the world especially that of India will be able to counter that and that would pretty much diminish India's ability to carry out any serious counter strikes on Pakistan. That is the best form of defence and keeping the enemy in their Pyjamas

The fallacy of MIRVs and hyper-sonic gliders: we will have the opportunity to use them.

With 100% guarantee, India doesn't have the resources to monitor our nuclear facilities, warheads, missile launchers.

With 100% guarantee, the America+Israel+Britain+France nexus has the ability to monitor us, and ARE monitoring us.

With 100% guarantee, the America+Israel+Britain+France nexus feels the world is an unsafe place because Pakistan has nukes.

With 100% guarantee, India will strike with a solid backing of, and with intelligence from, the America+Israel+Britain+France nexus.

Now that we have changed the goal posts with MIRVs, we have changed the face of war. India would be foolish to give us the opportunity to use them. The 'Indian Cold Start' should not be viewed as a massive tank assault across our Eastern border. The Indian cold start will come in the form of a massive, acute, and completely surprise attack after months and years of careful intelligence gathering by the world's best intelligence agencies. India will simply be a front for the war. The full technological prowess of major powers will be utilized against us.

The first phase of the attack will disable our EW and radar capabilities. And with all of our AD infrastructure bought from foreign vendors, this will be literally a piece of cake. What the West sells, the West fears not.

The second phase attacks will be from B-2 Spirit Bombers, F-22 raptors, missile strikes. It will be a saturation attack to take out our nuclear facilities, our mobile launchers, and sites of warhead storage.

Once the claws are taken out, we would be left at Indian mercy.

Those who think MIRVs and hypersonic vehicles will save us, live in a fool's paradise. We need comprehensive Air Defence capabilities that we can actually rely upon.
I am trying to figure:crazy_pilot::crazy_pilot: out how can someone be this stupid...

I think Pakistan should develop its own ABMs. ABMs are going to evolve and may in future be able to intercept majority of missiles. So a first mover will be at huge advantage given that defensive systems are developed systematically and gradually.

What if ABMs are evolved into perfect systems in next 30 to 40 years? Pakistan will be at serve disadvantage. Don't look at the present state of ABMs but future evolution of ABMs and the direction of research.

The picture you paint is scary, but it makes sense. IMO putting all our eggs in the offense basket will hurt us. Pakistan should take a multi pronged approach instead. I believe we don't need an ICBM or HsV.
Instead Pakistan should work on an ABM system and pump money into its human resource.

You're correct, Pakistan must not putt all its eggs in the offensive basket. We need to develop ABM capabilities and improve them slowly. Just like we did with Babur cruise missile. It too Pakistan 12 years to launch from submarine but ultimately we did it. Same is true for the ABM systems.

Hi,

A nuc war between the two countries is the end of the world---.

The shocking news of nuc strike will plunder the world stock markets---and the rest would be done by the fallout---.

When the Fukushima reactor was damaged---I talked about serious radiation consequences---and some super duper member over here made fun of me---. Just look at what is happenging with Fukushima---a benign reactor---how serious the radiation is after so many years.

And just imagine the spread of radiation from surface strikes---.

Nucs won't save pakistan---.
Nucs won't save Pakistan but our nucs will ensure that enemy is positively dispatched out of this world... not just through the fallout and over a long time but rather through direct strikes and on each and every major city and installation..

We need to balance in defense and offense. We seriously lack abm and air defense for our installations, ships, cities etc

We need to work hard and make joint venture with China, Turkey or italy, uk etc

No. We need to rather invest in offensive warhead delivery technology like the hypersonic glide vehicles and MIRV which render enemy's ABMDS worth billions of dollars useless and therefore create deterrence. Pakistan will not survive a nuclear war due to it geographic limitations, therefore our first priority ought to be to retain the capability to attack and annihilate India. Our best defense is to make sure our nuclear forces can bypass any ABMDS India puts into action.

and development of penetration aids and rvs and their tactics will remain in suspended animation

Almost every Nuclear armed country has MIRV ,Its only a matter of time this MIRV deal will become obsolete due to mid phase interception ,Given Indian interest to keep their BMDS alive.. Now I agree that we have first use policy and won't hesitate to go all out MAD.
Its not just about having a BMDS ,As i just mentioned Pakistan is the only nuclear country that seriously lacks on space frontier ,Something like this will help us develop other weapon systems in the future..
This is Pakistan we're talking about , Can't just have billions into this but make something simpler yet effective ,How about a Simple Intercepting Missile warhead made of neutron ,Hook it up with a STSS system in space , Make Missile silos across major cities.
Rest will include Increased range if Possible through live satellite tracking

Dear Sir, despite valid logics given by u Pak still needs credible SAM network in order to minimize the damage. Further with Ababeel on surface Pak has attained capability to counter Idian Sams.

Hyper sonic glide vehicles are still in infancy stages.
In changing global scenario Pak defense policy should not be India centric only.
