This has very high success chances of happening. Gen. Raheel has built a LOT of respect inside Pakistani PM's heart and in his close circles. In fact, he's the ONLY general that the PM appreciates even traveling overseas. He's successfully closed the chapter of military intervention into civilian matters even after an ex-military led support group told IK to do his election rigging and sit in / long march drama.
Plus, Gen. Raheel comes from the most decorated military family in Pakistan and for all his hard work, he will be rewarded through a promotion. This is good for Pakistan as sincere civil-military relationships were lacking for decades, resulting in numerous coupes, marshal laws, proxy wars and all. Now that its all put behind, Pakistan as a country can grow successfully on the world map.
I agree with the above. Gen. Kiyani was just there because he was there....nothing more. He could've taken leadership in getting rid of terrorists inside out of Pakistan, like Gen. Raheel did. But instead he decided to live peacefully, successfully, rich-fully and with expensive cigars in his mouth with high dollars in the bank account and support to and from, your very own Mr. 10% (I thought he went up to $ 50% before he left)?.
