First of all,a doctrine never gets old it remains relevant for long time but with some modifications.
(According to @jhungary )
Indian doctrine is cold start whose success heavily depends on mobility
Russians had similar doctrine against Europe but Europe deployed massive fleet of helicopters to counter Russian Armour.
But Pakistan has not many helicopters to effectively neutralize Indian armour even after absorbing counter measures of India
So Pakistan went with tactical nuclear option to counter massive Indian armour.
This lowered the nuclear threshold of Pakistan
But now, thanks to advent of UAV technologies in Pakistan and its friendly countries, Pakistan has built a Massive UAV fleet as an alternative to Helicopters.
Now UAVs have entered in South Asian war theatre
Indian armour can't move that rapidly and will need massive air defence cover and that basically slows down their movement.
So that mobility element is somewhat lost which will give Pakistan enough time to strike back at Indian Invading armoured divisions
And thanks to Pakistani advancements in Rocket artillery & Stand off weapons
The Pakistani back punch will be a lot more powerful than it had been pre 2020.

If my analysis is correct, then I will open another thread to discuss probable counter measures India can consider to keep its Cold Start Doctrine relevant in an environment of evolving technologies in Pakistan.

Cold Start doctrine in essence is bank of surprises and reaction time, similar to how Ukraine managed to roll Russian in Kharkiv with a near complete collapse, the issue here is simple, if we go by natural defence, you are going to try to defend everywhere, which mean static defensive line and you expect your enemy to attack.

The issue here is whether or not you can

A.) Detect the incoming attack
B.) How do you counter said response

UAV and other intelligence is not as useful for the attacker than the defender, because for the defender, you would want to know where your attacker is going to invade from, which mean logistic hub, troop concentration and movement. You need all those intel to predict a picture more accurately because you simply cannot have different scenario play out before you sort the situation out, that's what cold start doctrine is banked on.

So for Pakistan, essentially what you need to do is to avoid doing what the Russian did, you need to have ready reserve that you can put in to either plug the gap or exploit the initial offensive, then you look at how the Indian force operate, and try to go around their main threat and attack their rear (which would be your front if their initial offensive is successful) Russia lost to Ukraine on this not because they are incapable of holding a line, but instead, they don't know what to do when their line is breached. We had seen this happen over and over again, where troop at rear suddenly become frontline troop because the line has broken, that's how the German made gain in Adrenne offensive, and that's how the Ukranian manage to retake Kharkiv.

Just curious. Can Australia fight alone like Pakistan?

Tiny UAVs are good for battlefield tactics but are not capable of winning any battle. This is very clear in Ukraine. The UAVs may have inflicted damage but have not recovered an inch of territory occupied by the Russians. Moreover rapid development of anti drone technology makes drones a battlefield headache but not a winning factor.

Hate to be that guy, but India’s real cold start are the Pakistani army corps commanders. They will make sure Pakistan is too polarized, divided and weak to resist India’s attempt at dismemberment like they did in 1971.
