As Indian tweeps toed their establishments evil designs, Pakistani tweeps gave a befitting response
LAHORE: (Web Desk) – As the Indian twitterati toed the nefarious designs of their establishment by trending India with Balochistan, Pakistani tweeps were quick to respond with a befitting #PakistanWithKhalistan.

Khalistan has a long history. In 1947, some Sikh leaders had put forward the idea of an independent Sikh state named as Khalistan as they did not want to be part of any of the two states; India and Pakistan. The movement got a new fervor in 1971 when a Sikh leader Jagjit Sindh Chauhan visited United States of America (USA) and advertised through New York Times (NYT) the proposal for Khalistan. He collected millions of dollars from the Sikh community living in the USA after this advertisement.

The movement reached its zenith during the decades of 1970 and 1980. In 1984, Indian army devastated the Golden Temple alleging that there were Sikh militants hiding in it. Though the Indian government used the militancy argument well to forcefully crush the movement, the movement lives on and pro-Khalistan movement organizations like Dal Khalsa (International) are still working.

Today, when Indian tweeps trended India with Balochistan, their Pakistani tweeps were up to the task. Immediately, they set out to counter the propaganda by reminding the Indians of the atrocities committed by their government in Indian Punjab against the Sikhs.

They displayed complete solidarity with the Sikh community living in India for their demand of Khalistan.

They said that the economic exploitation of the Sikhs must be stopped.

Images of the common Sikhs, striving for Khalistan and murdered by the Indian army, were displayed on Twitter.

Indians were reminded how their government butchered Sikhs after the assassination of Indira Gandhi, blaming all the Sikhs for the murder of Indian prime minister by a Sikh guard.

The devastated Golden Temple can be seen in this image.

However, there were some Pakistanis were weary of the Sikh community. Though they supported their demand for self-determination, they also had memories of the partition days in their minds.

But for those who say that the Khalistan movement has died, here is one image showing the strength of the Sikh community demanding Khalistan for themselves.

This clearly shows that though Indians are trying to subdue the voice of the Khalistan proponents, the fact remains that....
