South Indian hindus marry first cousins, Punjabi hindu khatris marry first cousin. The list is long so stop bs around like typical hindu

key word being used to.

There is a reason why matrimonial sites and marriage brokers make a killing.

Better education and a largely reduced probability of getting blown up.

Neither he get the better education and instead of getting blown up up he was beaten by thugs. Again this is what he deserved after he decided to stay in a country like India.

Well, hospitality is our middle name...No amount of ragging sends a foreign national (who is away from his home) to the hospital!
Proves that you guys are better than US, Australia and other countries.

Congrats! :)

Similar amount of Indians were killed by terrorists in last decade...
.

Incorrect. Numbers in India were around 15000 not 50,000 like in your country, that too with a population more than 6 times as much as yours.

Anyway, all of this is offtopic.

. . .
Or maybe new students (newly enrolled) or newly moved to the area?

According to OP the people who beat the kid were drunk....so intoxication can make you act out of the norm ...
No way. New students absolutely won't touch him. He was a senior. This is something else. Broken heart, betrayal, money, previous insult - the usual reasons. In a day the things will get clearer.

There was a report that it could be a case of mistaken identity

PUDUCHERRY: A Pakistani student in Pondicherry University was attacked by three unidentified people with iron rods on Tuesday morning.

Police said Ali Hassan Raza, 24, a student of Unesco Madanjeet Singh Institute for South Asia Regional Cooperation (Unesco Misarc) in the university, was sleeping in his room at the Sir C V Raman Hostel on the campus when three unidentified people armed with iron rods barged into the room and attacked him around 4am on Tuesday.

Raza, who attempted to defend himself, raised an alarm. He sustained injuries in his neck and back. The attackers escaped even before other students came to his rescue.

The students generally do not lock their rooms during night due to extreme hot conditions.

Raza underwent treatment at Puducherry Institute of Medical Sciences (Pims) and later at Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (Jipmer). He lodged a complaint with the Kalapet police, who registered a case and began inquiries.

The Pakistani national said the attackers were of his age and added that they might be the students of the university. However, he declared that he did not have any previous enmity with other students.

The police suspect that it might be a case of mistaken identity.

"Preliminary inquiries revealed that Raza is an amicable student without any previous enmity with any section of students. He ruled out the possibility of any section of students nurturing hatred against him. We have begun a detailed probe. We suspect that the attackers might have mistaken him for someone," said investigating officer and sub-inspector V Sivakumar.

Raza is the first and only Pakistani student in Pondicherry University.

Police booked three unidentified people under sections 324 (voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous weapons or means), 341
(punishment for wrongful restraint), 342 (punishment for wrongful confinement) and 448 (punishment for house-trespass) read with 34 (acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention) of the IPC and launched a hunt for them.

Just imagine if an Indian was beaten up in a Pakistani university ?

I don't think there are many Indians studying in Pakistani universities firstly.

Secondly, even if such a thing were to happen, we wouldn't blame Muslims or Pakistani culture for it especially if other Pakistani students came to his rescue. Thugs and Hooligans are there in every country.

This incident happened after 2 years, so yeah he got good education,

So getting blown up is better than a small college pittai.. :) Do all Pakistanis, think that way? :P

So Just coz it is in India...it is suddenly in US, Oz and other countries to attack foreign nationals? Thats new to me! Ragging is fine...but when your guests end up in hospital that is not fine! And mind you it is not a concept in other countries...they have strict laws and punishment to protect their guests! Instead of trying to justify each bully your students do how about at least try to do the right thing and condemn it ?

 well any incident even take this Hyderabad communal tension you Indians blamed Muslims and their religion and culture for that.

So plzzzzzzzzzzzzzz dont make tall claims.

If such a beating of any Indian took place in pakistan you would have came up with worst abuses against Pakistan and Muslims.
