Patience, Rome wasn't built in a day. Pakistan has to take the added liabilities and risk of it plans to move forward.

Pakistan has no great natural resources like oil to finance itself into a developed nation with a disaportunately large population. It is still a primary agri-economy.

There will be growing pains, inflation, and a debt burden. On the other hand, it will also provide an opportunity for most to work harder to take advantage of the new challenges.

If you are hoping for a handout then most probably you will continue to suffer and lag behind.

My advice to most educated middle class Pakistani youth: go to China for a year or two and learn Chinese (mandarin) then with your Urdu, English, and Chinese comprehension coupled with your profession university degree or college diploma you are ready for the great opportunities ahead.

Continue sleeping and being a typical pessimist (something Pakistanis are experts at)... and you will not benefit.

Nothing will be positive if the corruption is not addressed. Even the CPEC will fail in time, Like suez canal which is much more important and older than CPEC hasn't changed Egypt fate as they also had the fat corrupted politician and leaders like us.

Yes, i agree there is an issue with corruption. However, many independent indicators are showing that overall the corruption index is heading towards a positive direction.

It isn't about overnight change rather the direction of of the momentum. If the momentum is towards improvement it is a something to be positive about.

I believe it is too early to to declare CPEC a failure. On the other hand don't expect it start raining gold over everyone either. It is a 15 - 20 year trajectory towards change.

It is typical of Pakistani nature to expect instantaneous change and instantaneous personal improvement in conditions. Unfortunately, the real world doesn't work that way.

Its boring that you dont realize the developing need of today's time.

We need tons of machinery to flourish the agriculture sector.
We need 50 new planes for PIA.
We need 100 huge industrial colonies.
We need dozen new universities built immediately.

We need motorways for each division to connect other division, and all the divisions to connect all the ports.
We need 50,000 mw wind and hydel energy, in 3 4 years to have cheap electricity for agriculture.
We need 100s and thousands dams to store water for agriculture.
All this can not be done with our existing resources and a particular mindset who would not let the politicians do their job.
We are in debt. we are beggars, we will get ourselves defaulted. I hate this narrative which has no reality. We are the 6th biggest country in the world according to population, but our loans are the 56th number in the world. Yes naive person like should be a waste of time but must be answered. and yes PK166 has shown changes in PIA. Accidents happen around the world but accident at this level doens't happen where a institution is intentionally brought to grounds to sell it

The answer is simple because the money collected from taxes is all distributed with Nawaz Sharif taking 98% and the rest trickles down the PMLN hierarchy. Loans obtained afresh are to pay off pending installments and to pay salaries to the Govt staff. These loans build infrastructure which in reality is roads, underpass, bridges, ring roads, littering Mall rd with posters and gifting new vehicles.

If you can simply calculate the tax earned only by selling toothpaste in the country for one week you can easily pay off an installment. Nawaz Sharif is getting 4X wealthier by the minute and morons like you are his minions who only stand to cheer and nothing more.

So, in short we don't need loans because the country generates enough revenue to pay off its debts.
