What's new

Pakistani pilot Saiful Azam

.
He was a PAKISTANI when these wars took place.
He was trained by Pakistani pilots and crews.
hold your horses before you say something...

So you enlighten us in the holy moth of Ramadhan.

1. Was Saif ul Azam Bangladeshi pilot in 1967?
2. Was he a Pakistani pilot in 1967?
3. Was he deputed to Iraq,Jordan and Egypt by Bangladesh Air Force or Pakistan Air Force?
4. He is being decorated by General Ayub Khan. Was General Ayub Khan Bangladeshi or Pakistani?
While I agree the least that should be done is to mention he was East Pakistani, a Bengali
Anyways please let’s not fight at if he’s Pakistani or Bangladeshi. He is a shared hero to both the countries. MM ALAM chose to stay in Pakistan and so he should be identified as per his wish. Saiful Azam chose to join Bangladesh and as such he should be identified as a Bengali

This is the PAF section. Let them say or believe whatever they please.

SaifulAzam was nothing without PAF.
It's pathetic when a lungi bangali try to take a credit.
And a ace pilot like him made a worse decision of joining Bangladesh air force. He should have followed the foot steps of MM Alam.
Your air force arrested and dishonorably discharged him and put him in a camp till 74. His allegiance is clear from 71
Oh speaking of lungi, he wore them

Why the hostile bigoted tone? You need to chill!

What is there to believe? This is an account of 1967. There was no Bangladesh then.

As for East Pakistan, it still was Pakistan. And Bengalis were part of Pakistan. At death, Saif ul Azam can be called a Bangladeshi but at the time of his heroics, he was Pakistani.

Regardless, he was our Muslim brother and such people are a rare breed. So his death is a very sad news.

Any airforce in the world would have done the same thing. Why PAF didn't behaved similarly with MM Alam another Bengali? You have any idea how much respect MM Alam have in Pakistan?
When civilians reject their nationality and choose another one it's a different matter but when it comes to soldiers it's a treason of highest degree.
Sometimes heroes, highly capable persons make silly decisions and lost all of their reputation ,hardwork and future opportunities.

Why the hostile bigoted tone? You need to chill!
And calling east pakistan a bangladesh in 1967 isn't bigoted and hostile??
And isn't it shameless to try to take credit and portray him as a bangladeshi ace fighter pilot when infact all of his great achievements did happen, the acheivements for which the world knows and recognize him today , when he was a pakistani not Bangladeshi. He was nothing without PAF and pakistan just like bangaldesh would have been a part of Indian Bengal if it was not for pakistan. They would be RSS slaves in concentration camps if it was not for pakistan.
They ve got their country but still showing that level of hatred and hypocricy on a pakistani forum is not tolerate able.
@waz bro take care of bangladeshi trolls on this thread please.

MMA Alam was a Bihari not a Bengali. Biharis supported Pakistan in 71.
Saiful Azam lived and died as a Bangladeshi as per his wish and who the hell are you to question him on his decisions?

PAF was funded by taxpayers by from both wings. The argument that he is nothing without PAF is baseless, as present day Bangladesh partially funded PAF during his achievements, and therefore should have some claims to his success.

As I said, you need to take a chill pill. You can convey your point of view without demeaning other members or their national origins. I see your post was deleted. In the future, please do better. This is a forum to learn from one another and exchange views. No need for insults and demeaning comments.

I think the Bangladeshis who are trying to take sole ownership of the great man need to realise the motivations of the Pakistanis who feel a connection to him.
The motivation isn't one of glory by association because he was a great pilot, it's one of gratitude, love and fondness.
Saif ul Azam was a PAF pilot, to carry out that function must have had a love for Pakistan, his comrades in the PAF, the flag that he wore on his shoulder and the people he was risking his life for. These things become seared into people's consciousness and they take a lot of shifting. Only Saif knows what he felt, unless of course, he made any statements to voice those feelings.
For our part we express our affection for him and thank him for his services to our country, to the people of Pakistan and to the PAF, as we have affection and gratitude for all those who have fought for Pakistan.
Back to the Bangladeshis who seem to think they own him, they don't.
Only Saif ul Azam knew where his affections and associations lay.

There is nothing to debate about his affection, he made his allegiance to Bangladesh very clear and you are totally missing the point that Pakistan imprisoned him in 1971, preventing him to fight for Bangladesh. Imprisoning him shows how much gratitude PAF had for his services.

Not really a debate to he had, if that is the case.
What happened, happened and he felt how he felt about it. PersonalIy it's not a huge loss to me, I could understand it either way.
I'll just thank him for his services to Pakistan, wish him well in the afterlife and move on.

Glad that you wish him well, while your fellow classy country man is insulting the dead
Yes he wished to die as a cuckold of India like many of you bangladeshis . You love being submissive sissies it's not our problem anymore but the point is what PAF did to him was very justified.
