we are not talking about domestic violence, we are talking about eve teasing, molestation, rape etc, are you suggesting in pakistan a proper study will suggest there is a parity between sexes as far as being victim of these crimes are concerned.
I have never been to pakistan, but I would seriously doubt if that is the case. I would still maintain that women are victims by such an order or magnitude that number of men victims will be insignificant.
Not suggesting the case should not be pursued if the guy complains.. and I totally agree that judges and police should be sensitized about male victims.

One good thing about you is the fact that atleast your willing to concede that male victims are indeed victims instead of making fun of them, not believing them or telling them to man up. My position on this argument is that, relative frequency of occurrence doesn't even matter. The law is there to protect an individual against all types of crimes. Crime statistics of the US (from 2010) reflect that over 77% of homicide victims are men. That doesn't mean you start ignoring the 23% of women population that is victim to the crime that overwhelmingly affects men.

However, as @SMC has stated, when actual research is done, the results are quite often very shocking. e.g. Look at the following report from the UK.

Infact, just look at the responses this thread got, from people calling the victim lucky, to not believing him, to telling him to man up to outright laughing at the matter. Try and locate a thread where a victim is a female, and anyone has the balls to say what people have said in this thread, and then formulate your opinion as to how big of a problem it is where, people LITERALLY make fun of the male victims.

KARACHI (Web Desk) – A young man says he was molested by a group of women in public on Tariq Road, one of the leading shopping areas in Karachi.

Saad Ilamdin, a social media blogger, shares his story with everyone to make people aware of the fact that women are not the sole victims of harassment in any country or society.
“Men get targeted too,” Saad wrote on Parhlo.com.
“No one believes men. They get mocked and ridiculed beyond measure. No one considers it a serious enough issue.
“Yet, I’m stating my story so people are aware that their young male kids need as much protection as females,” he added.

According to Saad, he was at Tariq Road on Sunday after work, looking for few things to buy. “You all know how crowded Tariq Road becomes after 6 pm, especially during Eid season. I was wandering around looking at shops when I saw a group of females approaching.”
Saad describes walking along the packed sidewalk, and encountering a group of girls.

“I moved to the side and stood still, out of respect so that the group could pass by. But unfortunately, one of the females moved her hand along my waist line!”
Saad goes on to say that one of women in the group also “groped him hard” and “walked away laughing”.
He describes being rattled by the incident. “I felt an immense amount of disgust and repulsion which made me leave the place immediately,” he wrote.
Later on Sunday, he took the issue to social media and posted a tweet about what happened to him.
However, his post was not received well by all quarters. While many Twitter users condemned the incident, others didn’t take him very seriously, calling him a “lucky lad”.

Whatever people on Twitter think about him, Saad also has a message. He says he wants people to know that sexual harassment is a common problem, and that being male or female, or looking or dressing a certain way does not bring it on or justify it in any way.

He continues: “The worst part was that I couldn’t do anything at that moment….Even if I had tried to stop them, they would have put the blame on me for harassing them, due to which nearby shopkeepers and other passerby would have beaten me to pulp,” describing the stigma surrounding men in crowded places in Pakistan, which left him with no one to seek help from.

“The thing is, that the society we live in, doesn’t recognize that men can be victims as well. But when faced with such situations, they are much [more] helpless than the women,” he wrote in his article.

to me it looks like a good story, where the author is just penning his fantasy, i could have give it some authenticity if the setting would have been zamzama instead of tariq road............

What you don't get .... is that.... you and others like you have just proven the point the article made. It talked about people not believing male victims, calling them lucky, making jokes about them. Guess what, you and others reacted EXACTLY as he said people do. That fact alone should warrant some introspection because I know for a fact that all of your humor and reasoning would go down the gutter and you'd rightfully be talking about serving justice if the victim was a female ... but since it's a dude, its okay to make jokes about him and its okay to doubt him ...
