Pakistani doctors are amongst the best in the world: President USMLE

Same here in India, They also produce better doctors IMO, because only the best students get admission and get to see all kind of ''cases". How much it cost in govt colleges ? I think it will be much cheaper than millions some members have stated.

It's cheaper ... Than private colleges that's for sure.. I don't know about other colleges .. But CMH med college (army med college) costs over 1 million per annum (including hostel fees etc).

A cousin is paying 2.5 mil for his BDS at a private college .. Despite having around 87% in FSC and the entry tests.. Still couldn't make it to CMH.

Why not got admission in FMJC or K.E? much cheaper and have quality staff and education.

My cousin did his MBBS from Shifa medical college (self finance) and now he is in US driving taxi. Isn't awesome :D

He is talking about the Doctors Not MBBS (میاں، بیوی بچوں سمیت).....That's why your brother is Taxi Driver.....:omghaha::smitten:

Most of my cousins in the extended family studied medical to become Dr and most of them left Pakistan. I don't know what is the problem in Pakistan that they did not stay in the country that provided them education at almost no cost. While the ones who are in Pakistan are earning like machines and working long hours in various hospitals and run their private clinics. I think they themselve and the govt are responsible for this situation. They complain about no service structure, senior Dr. exercising nepotism, a lot of work stress and low salaries. Thus it contributes to the deficiency of Drs per 10000 patient ratio and this situation gets complicated that a majority ( almost 70%) female medical students do not practice...though we can all be thankful that they do not...but as govt is pushing for population control, so female doctors and drivers should be encouraged to play their natural role...

That makes sense, on self finance means he did not qualify on merit and most probably did not pay attention to the lectures, skipped labs and somehow cleared with minimum scores or cheated his way through.

I suggest that govt should make medical education totally on self finance basis while the deserving candidates get awarded soft non-interest loans that are payable on long term basis after the start of their jobs and they are bound to serve Pakistan and they should not be issued passports with a validity of more than 180 days in case they have to visit abroad until they clear loan or 10 ten years of compulsory service, whatever comes later.

Medical colleges in Pakistan produce two kinds of breeds,
1. Doctors 2. Butchers.

These butchers also become perfect doctors once they are abroad, among strict law following nations. While in Pakistan the number of butchers is increasing day by day.
Yes!! I remember one doctor I met in the mosque telling a group of us about his journey to the UK. When he came to the UK getting off the flight from PIA, everyone was orderly, quiet making queues, however those same people in Pakistan had been ruly and disorganized. He felt that its something in the soil or air of Pakistan, however I suspect you are right...strict laws.
I forgot to mention that he included himself in the ruly and disorganized bunch.

Come on, don't act as an immature. You don't have to bring India in every thread. Try to follow the thread instead of wetting your chaddi and hit the reply button in excitement. Read the first paragraph again.

Pakistan is the fourth biggest country to provide doctors to United States and at present 12000 Pakistani physicians and specialist doctors are working in different states.

Most of them are working in other countries.
Where did you get this information more?

You cant just dismiss someone post without you providing no evidence for your post as well lol

His 12000 figure of pakistani doctors abroad is right. My question is regarding them being the best as claimed by the op.

That's the first paragraph of the article genius.

I have just answered your questions why so many Pakistanis come to India for their medical cause. Regarding being the best, I would not like to argue with you as this is the opinion of Chief Executive Officer of Federation of State Medical Boards of United Statates. Speaks for itself.

CEO happens to be of Pakistani origin .So suspect in my view.
Also do you think its proper for Pakistan to take help of India on a constant basis when we are constantly portrayed as the enemy country and threatened with nuclear destruction at the slightest pretext ?

All doctors in US and Canada go thru that phase, having a MBBS degree from Pakistan does not make you a doctor in north America, you have to pass their exams and do a house job here first (mostly in some far off depressed area where no doctor go).

Each Pakistani doctor should marry an engineer so that our engineers also get equal chance to serve abroad. ;)
