Flag hoisting ceremony held in Gilgit on Independence Day

A special flag hoisting ceremony was held in Chinar Bagh Gilgit today to mark the independence day of Pakistan. The ceremony was attended among others by GB Governor, CM and Commander FCNA. Floral wreaths were also laid on the monument of the freedom fighters who liberated Gilgit-Baltistan from the clutches of Dogra occupiers.

انڈیا کے زیر انتظام کشمیر میں گذشتہ ایک ماہ کے عرصے میں تشدد میں اضافے کے سبب تقریباً 60 افراد ہلاک جبکہ پانچ ہزار سے زیادہ زخمی ہو چکے ہیں۔

اس سے شورش زدہ علاقے میں امن و امان کی بحالی کو نقصان پہنچا ہے جبکہ انڈیا اور پاکستان دونوں ہی اس خطے پر دعویٰ کرتے ہیں۔

کشمیر کے ایک شخص عبدالرحمان میر ایک گولی کو اپنے ہاتھ میں لے کر دکھاتے ہوئے کہتے ہیں: ’اس گولی نے میرے بیٹے کی جان لی ہے۔‘

انھوں نے مجھے بتایا کہ پولیس نے دارالحکومت سری نگر میں ان کے گھر پر ایک ماہ قبل چھاپہ مارا تھا۔

’انھوں نے کھڑکیاں توڑ دیں اور آنسو کے گولے چھوڑے۔‘ انھوں نے دستی بم کے ٹکڑوں کو اپنے بیٹے کے خون سے آلودہ ایک رومال میں سنبھال کر رکھا ہوا ہے۔

انھوں نے بتایا: ’وہ میرے بیٹے کو گھسیٹ کر لے گئے۔ ہم پہلی منزل پر ایک کمرے میں تھے اور انھوں نے اسے باغیچے میں لے جاکر گولی مار دی، اور وہ وہیں مر گیا۔‘
