What's new

Pakistan working on Nuclear Submarine ?

I beg to differ.
Can you please elaborate a bit?
You do not agree with;
  1. WE need so many other things as well, (the problem is who will do that).
  2. We are NOT doing anything about that right now.
  3. Also i assure you that you can forget about the decade timeline sir,

Or
that the next 10 will be MOSTLY consumed by the conventional sub procurement? I think that whole project will take around 7 years for all 8 subs to be inducted into PN

OR

All of these :)

Will like to have your thoughts on this.

The miniaturisation of a nuclear reactor is hard (we received much Russian assistance) also the steel is not easy to manufacture of the hull.. Is Pakistan going to be developing it themselves or obtaining the steel from China?

India's first indigenous nuclear submarine, INS Arihant...would have just been impossible to realise without Russia’s massive all-round consultancy, technology transfer, technical services and training, technical 'know-how' and 'show-how,' design of the submarine as a whole, and above all numerous operational 'tips' based on 50 years of experience in designing, building and operating nuclear submarines.”

I fail to believe Pakistan could make a nuclear submarine without any outside help, they must be roping in China as consultants at least.

Special steel for submarines incorporates an anti-magnetic property to repel metal-seeking torpedoes and prevention of the attachment of limpet mines by enemy marine special forces divers

2009 when 143 Russian engineers, designers and consultants – all participants in the project – attended the boomer’s launch ceremony at Visakhapatnam on the east coast.

This is the portion I am most interested in.

@Arsalan @Rashid Mahmood ....................

Functional..... well!!

As @Rashid Mahmood said, perhaps we would never know. I will slightly change that to "Perhaps we wont know that for sure for some years to come"

Nothing was put on back burner and I posted about Pakistan developing nuclear plants a year ago and what I know is they were actually developed few years and soon we would hear about Nuclear Submarine

Sir i don't know what you shared but i do know what i know. I never post half cooked theories, i am sharing only what i am confident about to be accurate. NOTHING is "work in progress" as far as indigenous nuclear sub in concerned. We decide to lease or buy one from China then it is a different story.

Leasing is a option but countries can not 'buy' a nuclear submarine due to international restrictions so getting around this would be a long term lease from China.

Yes those so called half cooked theories mostly turn out to be true. Pakistan has developed small nuclear plants for its submarines and work was completed few years ago. Really soon Pakistan will begin work on building its nuclear submarines. Initally we would go for two nuclear submarines.

. . .
I think Pakistan don't need a nuclear submarine . an AIP ballistic submarine will be a great deal . most probably , we can get them from china in the form of S20 .

.
Get 2 on lease from China with DF 21 firing capability u never see any ship or agent trespassing Pak waters

Use some sense how u bring those heavy ballistic missile inside sub of AIP don't have enough propulsion to run after taking them

US FRANCE UK RUSSIA are not stupid building heavey bigger and expansive subs for just showcase

nuke subs always been bigger and they need more power full propulsion. Than AIP to carry heaviers payloads in length and width and deliver them underwater and stay underwater for longer due to nuke power generation no need to surface to recharge as AIP this is why they are great danger in cold wars

They have issues also Kursk sub disaster is a example u need to maintain cool down the beast every second

Hello All
Please let me know where are we making this N-Sub, Is there any hidden Sub making facility in any of Our Mountains,??????
And from where we are getting the Material that is required to make the body of SUB,?????? R we making that in Pakistan ?? Where?? And What About Other Hundreds of Systems???
And In Last we only have very few like 2 to 3 sites where we can make Subs or where Sub making facilities are available , And USA AND All other Countries don't know or have Any Idea that we are making a N-Sub and it will come out in 2020, Almost ready in one piece and soon going for Sea Trials...:D:D:D:D
WWWWWWWOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWWWWWWW
:p::p::p::p::p::p::p::o::o::o::o:

Thank You All and looking for sold answer!!!!!!!!!

In 2012 it was reported in many news papers and confirm that in 2018 we will have nuclear sub and program started by Gen Musharraf.

It is also on record that Pakistan and Israel are working on Tube base nuclear missiles and both are in very advance stage

A Pakistani defense analyst Mansoor Ahmed recently told Defense News that he has for some time believed Pakistan was working on a nuclear propulsion system for submarine applications and that Pakistan already has a functional submarine launched variant of the Babur cruise missile.

Pakistan's Babur cruise missile is very similar to the U.S. BGM-109 Tomahawk, and it can carry conventional or nuclear warheads, according to Ahmed.

Ahmed says Pakistan is now gearing up to build its own SSN/SSGN flotilla as a way of deterring India and maintaining the strategic balance in South Asia. However, Ahmed argues that Pakistan should build ballistic missile submarines. to fully ensure the credibility of its deterrent.
it is true that we do have a babur submarine variant. Its an open secret since long time. Almost since a decade. But that nuke submarine propulsion is wrong info. I guess he is getting this idea because pakistan has been researching in quitter propulsion for submarine for quit some time now. Even Gen Kidwai had mentioned this last year in america.

Our sub will remain a diesel sub but would be as quitter as an america nuke sub. Even if it is a S20 Chinese one.

. .
Not so sure about the development Pakistan has made on a nuclear submarine(if indeed the program does exist), but Pakistan should prioritize developing the submarine launched cruise missiles first. Conventional submarines happen to have their own advantages and should not be over looked, especially when they are cost effective and less time consuming to get the job done vis-a-vis SSBN. In order to balance India all Pakistan needs is smart-work.

Who told you that any third world country like India can make a nuclear sub of its own. Even technologically advanced nations like Britain, Germany, and France collaborate for such projects. Going solo is simply not feasible even if possible at all. Pakistan must be getting help from friendly nations. Nothing to be shy of .

Indian engineers Designed and FABRICATED The Reactor
Indian engineers also fabricated the Submarine under Russian Guidance

Then Indian engineers also were Hands On the job of Fitting the Reactor into the
Submarine along with all the Piping and Instrumentation
which is the Most difficult job in any Nuclear submarine

The QUALITY of Indian engineers helped us in taking up this challenging
job ; with The Russians as Consultants of course

And today we can do everything on our own
Including Integrating the submarine with our Own SLBMs

Economically India is a developing country

But Industrially and Technologically we are in the TOP 10 countries of the World
