According to the news channel, each indigenous stent will be priced at Rs. 80,000. The cost of local stents will be Rs. 220,000 less than the cost of imported stents (priced at Rs. 0.3 million).

The SAPM commented on the initiative and said:
The move to locally produce stents will lower the stents’ price while generating a positive impact on the market and the users.

Cheaper treatment for heart patients.
Savine foreign exchange on imports.
Possible earning of foreign exchange from exports.
