Your point about the cause of the war that Pakistan finds itself engaged in may or may not be valid, but it becomes futile once the war has been brought home. It is now Pakistan's war to fight, regardless of what caused it. After all, in human terms, if someone sets fire to one's house, who should put it out? Watching it burn while telling those who set the fire to put it out is not going to work very well.

What is being said here is...there are two different wars going on here.

1. There is the one Pakistan is fighting against the terrorists on Pakistani terms.

2. Then there is the American war against terrorists on American terms.

Pakistan will continue 1 and not 2.

The Taliban are the terrorists without distinction and should be a common shared enemy without a doubt, for both countries. If Pakistan chooses to be selective here, as you advocate, then it will only harm itself needlessly. Of course, it is Pakistan's choice whether it wishes to continue to retain some extra-State actors for use elsewhere, but the time for that strategy has come and gone.

I think most of the patriots in Pakistan already knew that Pakistan was led on to the wrong and destructive path after 9/11 by Musharraf and his gang. Ofcourse cheer leading was done by despicable liberal section of our society. I think even they have now come to senses.
