Pakistan weaker than India compare to 1999 position: Sartaj Aziz

Depends what he's talking about. In terms of economy etc., then maybe.

However, in terms of war, Pakistan has a larger nuclear arsenal than India has, and faster growing too.

That matters more, considering that the India-Pakistan border is the most dangerous nuclear flash point on the planet.

India and Pakistan: The world's most dangerous border | The Economist

Pakistan is small compared to India..so 90-100 nukes are more than enough to counter Pakistan...Since both India & China have 'no first use' policy , we dont need to worry abt China.

.
Sartaj Aziz, he is Prime Minister’s Adviser on National Security and Foreign Affairs.

That's his awesome opinion. What did India do during LoC border cross firing? ;)

We will do the same thing we did to 7 pakistani soldiers in nadala checkpoint in retaliation for killing 6 soldiers incl. kalia.

.
He is right, partly.
There's no denying that the last 5 years we've been down in the dumps while India pulled off some impressive rates of growth.

Disparity has grown more compared to mid-2000's. Less so for 1999.

.
He is right on two counts: in terms of international diplomatic clout, and in terms of Indian arrogance vis-a-vis Pakistan.

In terms of military capability, I will leave it to the military experts.

Again at the pexpense of repeating what has already been written, a two pronged war, shattered economy, internal insurgency to name a few problems occupying the army. I think it is a very factual account of things as they stand. My only ray of hope is that as soon as Pakistan faces opposition from outside all infighting stops and the country combines int oa unit. However economically it will still hurt us badly if there is a skirmish.

Then do it :chilli:
Right now all we are hearing is barking from you guys..
You know that they say...
A barking dog never bites  :azn:

We bite your soldiers really hard 6 months after our soldiers were killed during 1999.

Remember Pakistan Army managed to behead six indian soldiers after kargil war.
Indian army beheaded 12 of yours in the same period.

India managed to behead one of your soldiers.
Pakistan retaliated by beheading couple of yours.

India did unprovoked firing and killied 1 pak soldier.
Pakistan went into your territory and made five of yours bite dust.

If you wanna play retaliation game, Pakistan always comes out winner.
So I wouldnt try to...

Retaliate against us for poonch attack and mumbai attacks :yahoo:
Otherwise you are just a barking dog :chilli:

. .
Btw, kid, I dont know where you are getting these encounters. India never beheaded 12...
If it did, India would be crying on another incident

.
Pakistan is fighting a ten-year long war, Pakistan Military is engaged on multiple fronts, there is political instability in the country..and so on..

So I don't know why his statement is surprising?

Militarily, indians can not even think of engaging Pakistan Military in any military confrontation right now...
as if we never thought earlier...

NEW DELHI: Pakistan has accused India of decapitating 12 soldiers in cross-border attacks since 1998 and registered a protest with a UN watchdog, a newspaper reported Wednesday, after deadly army clashes earlier this month.

The accusations are contained in a series of classified documents presented to the United Nations Military Observer Group in India and Pakistan (UNMOGIP) which monitors the disputed Kashmir border, according to The Hindu newspaper.

The report follows a series of killings of soldiers on both sides earlier this month along the de facto border known as the Line of Control (LoC).

Pakistan says three of its soldiers were killed in firing by Indian troops while India accuses Pakistani troops of killing two of its soldiers on Jan 8, one of whom was beheaded. Pakistan has denied responsibility.

The situation along the LoC has calmed since the two armies agreed a ceasefire on Jan 16.

In its complaint before the UNMOGIP, Pakistan is reported to have accused India of beheading 12 soldiers and killing 29 civilians since 1998.

The newspaper quoted an unnamed senior Pakistani army officer stating that they have “sought to downplay these incidents...Each of these incidents has been protested by us on both military and UNMOGIP channels”.

The UNMOGIP was set up to monitor ceasefire violations by India and Pakistan but the watchdog does not conduct criminal investigations.

Depends which factions come together against India.

I don't think we want the TTP, LEJ and other fanatics to ever be perceived as heroes, even if it is against India.

We have paid in blood to slowly have the people realize that these fanatics are evil. Anything that puts them in the public's good graces will be counter productive in the long run.
