Nadi Postoglu a project director at BMC the producer of the Kirpi MRAP has said that Pakistan wants the Kirpi MRAP. He said that the Kirpi has now become a world brand, Tunisia has increased its orders of the kirpi, Turkmenistan has just ordered some, Ukraine also wants some. Postoglu says that the U.S also produces MRAP's but that they are expensive unlike the kirpi.

So far 60 mine attacks were staged against the Kirpi in combat and no soldiers were killed in any of these attacks. The Turkish Army operates 620 Kirpi vehicles.

They always say they wanted something but until now wanted it and then chose to go for an European or Russian one, and help their industries instead. We should take this kind of news lightly.

Except for T-129 deal, all else was cancelled or postponed because the previous government screwed the economy. Otherwise we would have had milgems and a few other things in our arsenal by now. Hopefully with economy improving thise possibilities would be revisited.

U.S is practially giving away thousands of MRAPS most of them for free, don't think the issue is price

how much does the kripi go for anyhow?

i'll guess $250,000

Pakistan has already purchased some from US last year for Operation Zarb E Azb if I am not that wrong, ?

Love that Turkish MRAPS beast, Pakistan should purchase all of them without questions.

But Pakistan doesn't have money, budgets and limited investment. Why they can't be aggressively improve their economy?? I should born in a wealthy rich country (Trillion dollars) that can afford everything. :hitwall:

Money isnt a problem; we rank 27th in terms of purchasing power.

Pakistan's economy can not handle our strategic or tactical defense requirements. But the recent spike in anti-corruption campaign has been a blessing for us.

Can't really blame Pakistan, a lot of the deals were being drafted during Musharraf's rule, and were permanently delayed due to Zardari's ruinous economic policies and massive corruption, nearly bankrupting Pakistan. That actually includes a lot of the European deals, such as the German subs (which is pretty much a dead deal now).

Pakistan is actually looking to still buy the T-129, from what I can tell, but until the economy can fully get back on it's feet, don't expect anything major.

Though, if the rumors are true, than expect the MPT-7 to become the new standard Pakistani assault rifle within a few years.
