Ulema declare Daesh 'Khawarij'
A REPORTER — UPDATED ABOUT 6 HOURS AGO
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Ulema Council (PUC) on Wednesday termed the self-styled Islamic State (Daesh) as a ‘Khawarij’ (those who deviated from mainstream Islam).

This declaration was made at the international ‘Paigham –i-Islam’ conference organised by the PUC. Mufti-e-Azam Palestine Al-Sheikh Muhammad Ahmed Hussein presided over the event.

The declaration, passed during the conference, condemned the attacks on schools, colleges and worship places. It said Daesh and other such terrorist organisations were a challenge to the Muslim world and that they were defaming Islam and attacking Muslims based on their defective beliefs. The declaration further said there was a need for unanimous efforts to eradicate terrorism, extremism and sectarian violence from the society. Islam has nothing to do with terrorism and extremism and the elements that were fanning differences among believers of different religions and sects have vested interests, it stressed.

Speaking at the conference, Leader of the House in the Senate Raja Zafarul Haq said there was a need to differentiate between terror groups and genuine resistance.

“Pakistan has always supported the Palestinian cause and we will continue to support the justified stance of the Palestinian people, who are victims of state-sponsored terror and suppression,” Raja Zafarul Haq said.

However, he said, following recent developments, the Muslim world was faced with a new kind of challenge.

He added that there were serious threats from terrorists that had to be countered through narratives and education.

“This is a serious threat and can be defied through ideology and reasoning to portray the real face of Islam,” Raja Zafarul Haq added.

He also asked Ulema to stand up and face the threats from terror groups who were committing atrocities in the name of Islam. The participants, including senior clerics from various schools of thought, called for guiding and educating Muslim youth against menaces of terrorism, extremism and sectarianism.

They said all those organisations that were responsible for killings of people and weakening Islamic countries in the name ‘Islam and Jehad’ should be declared anti-Islam and anti-Muslim’.

PUC Chairman Allama Mohammad Tahir Ashrafi said: “All these terrorist organisations that attack schools, colleges and educational institutions are anti-Islam and anti-Muslims,” adding that “we cannot allow any group or organisation to impose its will on any segment of the population in Pakistan”.

He also criticised the current state of National Action Plan and said it should be implemented in true sprit.

“What we have is a small circle of illiterates who think it was in Sharia to ban ‘girls education’ and try to force their own version of Islam on the society,” Allama Tahir Ashrafi said. “And it was the duty of us Ulema, clerics and Mashaykh to stand up against these elements,” he added.

It will make what difference? in past we declare TTP / Taliban Khawarij and started operation against them but their mouth peace spiritual Guru moulana Burkha still barking in Islamabad did we have courage to tell him stay away from masjid you are non believer and khawarji ?

It shouldn't be limited to the declaration only. We need to educate our people and to understand them what really is happening in the name of Islam which does not relate at all. This kind of education is needed to be wide spread through every mean to the people for awareness even publicize it so the fooled sympathizers may be helped to understand.

So finally they realized it. *Slow clap.*

Anyways, this council has to play its part now to end terrorism. Just declaring is not going to help and also they are not done with their role with calling them Khawarji.

Too little, too late. The train has already left the station as they say. Daesh will find fertile ground in Pakistan, after all, our state is so afraid of them that their main man in Pakistan is free to wander the capital and threaten any who oppose him.

Tell me, haven't we already surrendered to Daesh?

IMO Sir, the main man is nothing but a decoy however the real threat is the mindset that we need to counter and it will be much feasible if Ulema do the job as they can do well in this regard. Going after that so called main man directly will disrupt the situation as well as create panic until & unless we have no grounds so let the educational process be paced then we can see results in our favor as well. In view of common class Muslims, if anyone of us criticize any beard man as "Mulla" we have a strong reaction just because of a mindset about beard man to be sacred and respected above all so that's where the education and awareness is needed that every beard man is not Molvi and every so called Molvi is not necessarily to be respected or sacred. We need to tell people that Islam and Sunnah has nothing to do with these khawarjis and that will happen when the right process be adopted to educate the people.

And people go nuts when you talk about it. Interestingly, many Muslims find it stupid to make it clear that Islam has nothing to do with them.

@Ammara Chaudhry It is only just because of lack of knowledge or i may say as we never tried to educate those people properly that Islam is not inherent of their elders or a so called Molvi they are following. Quran & Sunnah are complete ways to learn and follow as life system rather than believing on so called Molvi or fake scholars which will ultimately lead to hell. Also, it is no where mentioned or promised that the one will be forgiven if he or she followed the wrong scholar and never tried to correct him/herself because it is our duty to learn the right education of Islam rather to put the blame on someone else. Rest about as you said people going nuts, i would say that we need to communicate with them but very politely and in calm manners as they may pay attention and listen. You know human nature when you try to object someones doing since decades, you will be facing a great resist so better to start or talk politely (AKHLAS, AKHLAQ) and that is how all of us need to tell them. Indeed Ulema has to play their role and need to educate people by every mean of communication.

That's exactly what my point of view is. It is out responsibility to pick up the Quran and find the answer out. Why completely relying on molvis people. And when we already now many of them fake and uneducated.
Today, Muslims want to close their eyes like pigeon and believe things will get better without putting any effort in to solve it. They do not want to talk about it. Staying silent sometimes mess it up more. I do not know when people will realize it

@The Eagle can't even edit the post. So many typos. :/

@Ammara Chaudhry Agreed having the same problem as well as cannot add quote hence using the tag option.

Staying silent is a lame excuse and same is causing the maximum damage as well. Indeed ALLAH has promised the help but for them who strive for.

It reminds me of the saying "knot your camel before praying."
Unfortunately, people are hoping it all to get fixed without speaking about it.
Now the flocks Birds are not gonna come and throw rocks on this enemy of Muslim umah and make it win this battle. People have to get up.

now what will b the stance of Moulana Burqa on this ???? any news about his views ??
