Featured Pakistan Ulema Council announces support for construction of temple

1. Why do we have a Ulema Council in the first place? Islam is simple, no need for Mullahs making things more complicated!

So simple that everyone will have their own interpretation which they may sometimes use to manipulate people against the state or for their own agenda... Centralising under an ulema council that is well versed on the subject is perhaps the best approach. They should be the only ones with the authority to issue fatwas and have the responsibilities that come with it. This will prevent the random rabid mullahs from using religion as thier own tool and also give traceability if something went wrong.

2 wy street. plenty of Muslims live in kuffar land and are generally allowed to build masjids, after a tough struggle tho as nut jobs exist everywhere., Villa Park masjid was built in mid or late 80s and they had to buy 3 surrounding homes due to litigation threats from redneck type Christians who preferred to move out than live in close vicinity of a masjid. The site was not a very busy street. maybe 12 or so homes 1/3rd of the street but mostly behind the masjid itself with a different lane for access.More recently, here is Dallas TX, muslims were been given a very very hard time to buy land for the graveyard. And our racist former Irving mayor is getting elected as congresswoman. She was openly anti-Muslim.

These interpretations and overcomplicated rulings are mullah constructs. Islam is simple so keep it simple. You know who spoiled Mullahs the most historically speaking? States giving them power in order to get „lenient“ rulings for the state. And btw not every interpretation is right. But please tell me regarding this Hindu temple: what precedence do we have to built one? Did the prophet (PBUH) built temples again? Does the Quran encourage idols?

Islam is by no means simple, if it was, there wouldn't be so many different sects. And I agree that state should not have given mullahs so much power in the first place, and such power must not be given to mullahs moving forward. But it is better to have a centralised authority for the sake of unity, traceability and accountability.

I know that not every interpretation is correct, but who decides which one is correct? It makes sense to delegate such a task to the most learned on the subject.

From my very limited knowledge on the subject of Islam and idols, I would say that building such a place would be discouraged.

The world knows that this is a PR stunt. No white man in the West will appreciate this move, and even if some people do: What will we get from this? More money, more nukes?
We will get good will in the Hindu world. BJP sort of thinking won't take India very far, in fact they are starting to feel the cost of such mentality. We need to project inclusivist image of Pakistan to attract tourists (religious pilgrims) and investors.

Did the prophet (PBUH) built temples again? Does the Quran encourage idols?

There are already 6-7 mandirs in the vicinity of Islamabad. So no need to build new ones and that too on my tax money!

They demolished idols but i think today we should prefer peace. Violence & raising sticks like lal masid students is not good. It doesn't create good image in the world. Let the country support minorities.Create peace and religious harmony.

Who are you to say that? We will only do what Islam teaches us. Appearing someone and pleasing someone may be the policy of some rabid mirza but not Islam!

That's true brother. Some "tolerant" Pakistani think that they are copying the west by building temples for Hindus (and as we all know West equals good in their world). But they don't know what we have to do if want to built a mosque. Anti-Muslim protests of the neighbours, propaganda in the newspapers ("Will this be the next home for terrorists?"), countless city and government regulations. And the Muslims collect money and save up on their own. And if someone says the Hindus cannot afford to have a temple so I say to them: that's life. If you cannot afford a temple you maybe have more severe issues in your life to handle (like surviving). And yes, even here in the West there are bankrupt mosques that have to be closed due to lack of funding by the community! And local politicians always threaten to close the mosque up before elections to collect some right-wing points. And we don't get money from the government. Religious buildings have some tax cuts, yes. But in order to have these tax advantages you first have to built up a mosque!

We will get good will in the Hindu world. BJP sort of thinking won't take India very far, in fact they are starting to feel the cost of such mentality.
Not gonna happen. The issues between Muslims and Hindus are too severe. Our religions are the complete opposite of each other and our common history is a hostile one. And the Indo-Pak wars happened without BJP rule too. So this is not an argument. The uneducated masses of India want someone who abolishes Islam in India and destroyes our heritage there. Some even stopped using Arabic and Persian rooted words in their vocabulary.

From my very limited knowledge on the subject of Islam and idols, I would say that building such a place would be discouraged.
Yes, you are right.

Can you prove you pay the taxes ?

Furthermore, you are talking as if it is only your tax money in national treasury. The Hindus and Muslims who are supporting this temple and other non Muslims also pay their tax. So just like govt spend your money on badshahi mosque renovation and construction of other mosques, they are more spending non Muslims tax on their places of worship.

The Army Chief and top Brass, are for this, and agree to the nationalist sentiment that Pakistan for the Pakistanis.

Just because its on Google maps doesnt make it real. Our obsessed neighbours have a tendency to spam Google maps with all sorts of crap about Pakistan, according to the Hindu council there is no building for the 600 or so Hindu's living there to perform weddings, celebrations, and communal prayer. There are structures around the Islamabad area, but they are either too old (like ancient) or too small for function. Its like saying that sufi shrines are masjids and all the muslims should pray there instead of building something seperate.

Also unless im mistaken, Hinduism isn't like Islam. Its more like a collection of various pagan beliefs in South Asia under one umbrella term, so telling Hindu's from one belief to worship at a temple of another deity doesnt work. At the end of the day they do need somewhere to meet as a community and the current community centres they use arent appropriate.
