Pakistan to launch state of the art satellite in space

Just concentrate on the requirements and not India has this much of satellites or china has that much. Get the basic technology from anywhere. Once capable of comparing, then compare.

So you have "indigenous" MRBM programme, but why can't you develop your own SLV which is just a primitive and Basic Tech compare to SRBM and MRBM,Even Iran SRBM tech is inferior than Pakistan yet they possesses SLVs.

Why this discrepancy ?

This budget allocation of about 70 million dollars will be hoping to address that.
Developing a SLV for primarily civilian use was not high on the agenda previously...
While our missile program has a national security aspect attached to it hence the intense focus !

means don't matter ender result does, what matters is that we will have another sat in the space, how we get it there, how do we make it, that have little or no effect on the outcome.

Nothing wrong in getting help for the greater good of nation.
It is not a f***** d*** measurement contest. Nor is it about fake egos

It is just not about launching another satellite into space but about the indigenous ability to do so. That tells a lot about the state of R&D, scientists and institutions.

its not just about developing an SLV.
secondly we are not a rich country like USA, china and especially india to develop our own SLV and space satellite lauching program where there are dozens of countries capable of doing so.

Islamabad: Pakistan has decided to send another state of the art satellite into space to fortify its position in space and a sum of Rs. 7 billion has been allocated in the budget 2015-16 for this program.

Pakistan is likely to be able to launch the new satellite in the space by the end of 2018. Headquarter of this satellite program will be set up in Lahore. Work will also be initiated for establishment of satellite station under SPARCO. The new project will be started in the upcoming financial year 2015-16.

The neighboring countries China and India outnumber Pakistan in the quantity of satellites held by them and they are reaping enormous economic and defense benefits from them. On the other hand Pakistan had launched one satellite in space earlier. The launching of the new satellite will usher in new revolution in the domain of communication in Pakistan besides bolstering country’s potential for satellite monitoring and achieving defense targets. This program will also help in ensuring equitable distribution of water among four provinces under 1991 water apportionment accord.

The sources said this objective will be achieved within three years and more 14 billion rupees will be earmarked for this project in the federal budget of next two fiscal years.
Pakistan to launch state of art satellite in space

This would be replacing Paksat 1. It would occupy the remaining Geostationary orbit.

The satellite will be ours but will most likely be launched through a Chinese SLV....

It is to happen in 2018 hence it will be done from Pakistan with a Pakistani SLV. All currently under development.

Their tech is just borrowed from china ..... As an engineer I can say that their 2750 range missile has all the knowledge to launch a satellite in LEO. If it was their own tech , they would just launch a nano satallite (7 kg) in LEO . can be done within months of taking the decision.

Now , for this satellite , the headline is wrong as pakistan has no proven SLV. The launch will be done by chinese.
Let us see who fabricates the satellite.
Pakistan's Space program is older then India's. Please do some research before posting.

Correction we have an "INDIGENOUS" MRBM program in the form of the Shaheen series

If they are planning it by 2018 i doubt they can put the infrastructure in place knowing SUPARCO'S performance in the past......Those missiles were developed by NESCOM

Anyway poor reporting they should have made that clear if Pakistan itself is going to launch the satellite.

SPARCO funds were cut during Musharuf era...

Still the SPACE Programe has been going on on the limited budget.

@SUPARCO can you provide the details of the projects that have been carried out so far.

Are u resurrection of mine?:undecided:

Currently these are going on in SUPARCO

Towards late 1990s, SUPARCO planned an Earth Observation Satellite System (EOSS), which by 2006/7 was reconfigured and renamed as Remote Sensing Satellite System (RSSS), comprising of two remote sensing satellites, one carrying an electro-optical payload and the other a Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR).

The PRSS-1 project is currently under the process of approval from the Government of Pakistan. The planned satellite will carry a high-resolution electro-optical payload with designed service life of 05 years. The satellite is envisaged to be designed, developed and launched in a low Earth orbit by 2015/16, through cooperation/ collaboration with reputed international satellite manufacturers.

Pakistan’s first communication satellite was launched on 12 Aug 2011. The satellite was developed and launched by the China Great Wall Industry Corporation (CGWIC). The satellite is located at the 38 degrees East orbital slot. The service life of the satellite is 15 years. The commercial services of the satellite were inaugurated by the Prime Minister of Pakistan on 05 Nov 2011 from the satellite ground station located near Lahore. The satellite is providing satisfactory services to a broad spectrum of national and international customers.

This is good news for Pakistan, We Indians should congratulate and welcome them instead of casting aspersions and making mocking comments.

Its better that their attentions are focused on economy and science. Space Technologies tend to have a lot of trickle down benefits which would in turn make them economically secure in addition to a sense of achievement. Just look at how much our countries spend on defense because of our mutual distrust and insecurities when we could have spent the same on our infra, education etc and be where Japan, Korea and other well to do Asian countries are.

In the end people of sub continent have to trust each other, If we don't, then US and China would keep profiting from selling us weapons while our own countrymen starve. We have to realize that we are not players but pawns. China uses pakistan to contain India and USA and US uses India to contain China. Earlier US used Pakistan to contain Russia and Russia used India to contain China and USA.

Same story keeps repeating and i am sick of it.

Sorry for the rant

And this thread shows exact low level mentality of Chutia Indians. U fockers can't even digest one news related to Pakistan . I pray humanity ends on this planet dont want to see this Indian filth on other planet.

i am sure Pakistan has SLV tech but using it to send satellites in orbit means that Pakistan can also turn those transports into ICBMs and we all know how much double standards this world have when it comes to Pakistan Nuclear program ...... And pathetic scum of the earth aka indians will be on forefront dancing naked and screaming and whining and bitching about Pakistan ICBMs

Bro all indians are not like that. My earlier comment as below

Whats with the reporting here ..Pakistan neither builds satellites nor does launch it.

Contrary to this source.. Pakistan has never launched any satellite in space.
However it has bought second hand satellite from Americans.

It's sole existing satellite Paksat 1 is financed, built and launched by China.

So far Suparco has built only one satellite Badr 1 ..that too 1980s and that too launched by China.
