.

Yes sir thats what i was pointing at. He went from addressing the forum members to quoting Musharaf and Bush. Seemed he was implying that people here had been claiming that.

F16 is a multirole aircraft and in the CAS role, they are definately for WoT. USAF using F16's in a similar role in afghanistan. EFT, Mirage, Rafale also used in the same role in afghanistan and in Libya.

i wasn't quoting bush and musharraff

.
just scroll up.. look at f16 used in CAS for WoT

Well of course they are. If CAS is the need the F-16 will deliver. As will be the case with any requirement placed upon them be it from the west or the east. Dont think Sir fatman meant that they were bought solely with CAS for WoT in mind.

Statement:

Fox news is for nutcases... whatever his opinion is is his own... you shouldn't draw India into this because that is not India's view on the situation..
Although I may be wrong here but IMO F16's are not for WoT and shouldn't be claimed as such...sorry if I am OT, Regards

Taken as "not of use" or "not to be used" in WoT.

Response:

Meant as "CAS is the need in WoT, the F-16s will deliver".

Of course they are for strengthening the air arm be it against whom ever it may be, not just the Taliban.

WASHINGTON — The Bush administration plans to shift nearly $230 million in aid to Pakistan from counterterrorism programs to upgrading that country’s aging F-16 attack planes, which Pakistan prizes more for their contribution to its military rivalry with India than for fighting insurgents along its Afghan border.

^^^^ That is what im saying.........WoT was not the reason for the purchase. Super Tucanos would have been better for CAS in WoT. Anyone can see that.....

.
But PAF is not flying any active missions in Afghanistan, so you are saying PAF f-16 Right now are flying CAS missions inside pakistani territory???

to your question the answer is yes and PAF has bee doing it for few years. the footage is from F-16

Yes that proves beyond doubt that F16 C/D are needed for war on Terror of all kind so please lets not discuss this further

There is a story that befits Pakistan's quest for more F-16's... more or less anyway.

The landlord of a village was generally cruel towards the other people in his village.. particularly those not of his class.
The local Folk singer who was not from the Landlord's class but due to his efforts in entertaining the Landlord was treated a little less harshly.
Thinking that the landlord's supposed fairer treatment of him was a sign of friendship.. The singer decided to ask for the hand of the Landlord's daughter for his son.
So he goes all dressed up to the landlord's house.
When he lets the Landlord know of his intentions.. The big man loses it.
He order his goons to beat the Singer back and blue all the while cursing him in pithiful language and denouncing his stature.
When the landlord's goons are done, the singer's clothes are torn and stained with blood. His Turban(pag) lying near a gutter.
He can barely get up, but manages to do so... and says to the Landlord.

" So Chaurdhry Saab, should I take this as a no??.. or are you going to think about it? In that case Ill come again tomorrow.."

The F-16's are an obsession for this nation..
And no quantity of locks, conditions or spare parts will stop some from pursuing them.

Although Santro you are correct about the obsession but I think this news by h khan is not being confirmed by PAF or higher authority at the moment? We need official confirmation first which has not been done yet and can be classed as just a mere "RUMOUR".

Also i think with new expensive f16, it brings undue influence of USA on Pakistan, it looks more suggestive to me. in it? we could buy 50+ jf17s, 50+J10s with it plus more hundreds of job creation, and we have all the maintainance infrastructure in place in it, no shortage or fear of spares, cant we do that?

Well it would, but we do need a stop gap.. and that is what the F-16's bring.

A Plane that America has assured can never be used in Offensive purposes by Pakistan, we are still buying it? Top Brass must have a strong reason behind this!

yep.. 10% commission(provided the commission rates haven't gone up)
