Pakistan to Exercise Options for More F-16s

My great sir... JF-17 blk-I is already BVR capable .. havent u seen the pics?

Though id like to see more F-16s in PAF but im scared of another sanction ... its still a big concern... why should we buy 18 f-16s for 3 billion dollars when we can buy 50+ JF-17s with comparable avionics or invest more in FC-20?

Also US-Navy should return our 14 f-16s aswell ...

Anyways all the best to PAF. Hope we dont get sanctioned by usa the badmash of the village..;)

Sir,

Thank you for your post----it doesn't work with weapons systems like you described---pictures mean a lot to kids----but in real world----it is time, that is needed for the system to mature----. Minimum 5 years of constant opetration at full capacity---before you can claim something with surety---.

To others----,

Kids----you know why we are going for the F 16's----think with your brains---open your minds and use them----. Looks like the other items are going to take a lot longer to come to fruitation and be upto par----so what is the other best option for a birdie----it is the F 16 blk 52 and other second hand F 16 aircraft.

You already have the munitions for the aircraft---you have 110% support and followup capability---your front line top notch fighter pilots are already familiar with the blk 52's---you already have an operational manual and what you are going to do with this aircraft----you already know that the opponent is not getting the F16 IN---so is there any issue----other than sanctions----play the game right and the sanctions won't be coming----. Act like a fool----and forget your tomorrow.

its good to have more of these birds .we have the infrastructure to keep these birds flying.we will be having a mix force of hi tech US n chinese jets

.
Congrats on buying additional 18 F16 aircrafts... good for PAF!!

US and Pakistan have 'signed' two contracts

1- to deliver 28 F-16A/B embargoed in the 90's - 14 have been delivered - 14 are pending. US has to provide these under the contract.

2- contract was signed for 18 new F-16C/D with 'option' for 18 additional F-16C/D. it is the buyer who can excercise the 'option' under the signed contract.

A very honorable , and wise observation sticking to the known facts about Pakistani previous agreements that is exactly what I have heard and have formulated a similar opinion , when it comes to F16 Addition

Close to 80-100 F16 C/D standards is a wise goal for Pakistan Airforce

Together with of course introduction of , equally technologically gifted planes like J10B and Thunder Block 2

The only other remaining question for me is why are we also interested in Norwegian Air force's 50-60 fighters, are these meant for spare or perhaps to be stored ? Do these also come with all the weapons and spare engines ? in package

Are we really aiming to have 125 F16 C/D or 150 F16 C/D fighters to guard our air space

And can we also upgrade these fighters with AESA radars

I see a contract of such magnitude would be mutually beneficial to Pakistan , and US companies upgrading the Norwegian fighters with AESA upgrades and handing over the fighters to Pakistan or via Turkey

Such a deal would surely nullify the MRCA 150%

US / Pakistani administrators were smart as they had "options" mentioned in contract meaning these dealings are PREAPPROVED so likely any Indian lobby's attempts to derail such a deal would not happen as these new planes will not be reviewed by congress since no need already been approved

as i think PAF is going for more f-16 as they done with mirages sir look at mirages in PAF we bought from Lebanon Australia France Libya and upgrade them ROSE . it will be very very good option if we got used F-16 and make them as mirage fleet.

You know the images of Mirages Pakistani engineers have done a great job some of these mirages look fantastic , a part of me wishes that if we could perhaps just augment and improve the avionics

?Once we start producing our own as we know we have started research and development and may be move all 180 mirages to Navy or at least 100 of the mirages for anti ship operations

upgrading the F-16 will never be the same as upgrading the mirage as US PAK relations r worsening.french company carried out the ROSE upgrades in mirages n once US pulls out of the deal then how we will be upgrading our jets when we cant even have a look into their radar n sniper pod etc?turkey will not help without US consent

Yes that is why Thunder and J10B are very important for our modernization efforts
