We attack Kabul?

Nothing really, as much as there is a intent among the Americans to hate on Pakistanis and somehow cause harm to us, Pakistanis will just be content in US leaving us alone. For the most part the American way of life is not an issue for Pakistanis and thus its not an ideological issue for us not being able to accept them (they on the other hand sometimes behave that Pakistan should not exist at all). Our position is more defensive, in a world where we feel American is making hostile moves to destroy us, we just want to survive.

They cut off this aid with the intent that it will bring the nation to its knees. Its a very foul intent on the part of the Americans at least previously they had an issue with our nuclear weapons, now its simply an issue with who we are. When Pakistan pulls through, these things won't be forgotten.

If Pakistan has so much trust deficit with the US, why did you aligned with them in the first place for the WoT?

Guys, you are chating like a bunch of kids, what is required is a stable Pakistan and to attain that, US has to stop tarnishing Pakistans sovernity. The people of Pakistan are loosing their belife in the democratic way of life. this will put pakistan in a position where it might end up in bad hands. what Pakistan needs is its heros(people) to think and act wisely to chose its next government and at the individual level, every pakistani should and will work for lifting its economy to track.

What happened in the past, all terrorisom, all the blood shed are past. India and Pakistan should shed its enimity and should have a goal for its future and should not live on its past.

Dont delude yourself mate.. Pakistan didnt do any standing or sitting in the harm's way. Its just that different power centers in Pakistan operated with a conflicting set of objectives. The typical situation of "Do naav ka sawar".

about pointing the way, I am sure Talibani Afghanistan thought of the same approach of pointing of the way for Al Queda in 2000.. All the best in that. May be Pakistan will fare better than Afghanistan in using that strategy

Pakistan threatens to withdraw troops from Pak-Afghan border

Mukhtar says that US aid money meant to reimburse costs incurred in stationing army in Pak-Afghan border areas, not to fight war on terror.

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Defence Minister Chaudhry Ahmad Mukhtar threatened to withdraw Pakistani troops from the Pak-Afghan border in reaction to the suspension of nearly $800 million worth of US military aid.

In an exclusive interview with Express 24/7′ special correspondent Kirsten Seymour in Islamabad on Monday, he said that Pakistan would pull back troops from the nearly 1100 check posts set up along the Pak-Afghan border if the US does not resume Pakistan’s military aid. A move that would sabotage efforts against the Taliban and al Qaeda in the region.

He said “this money (US military aid) is not for fighting the war, but its the money that we have spent already.”

Asked about what will Pakistan’s reaction be, he said that Pakistan could not afford to keep its military out in the mountains for a long period of time. “The next step would be that the government or the armed forces will remove the forces from the border areas,” he said

Shamsi Airbase for logistical use only

The defence minister went on to say that the US, by way of UAE had been allowed the use of the Shamsi air strip for unarmed drones and as a logistics support site.

“The understanding was that the drones would fly from Shamsi base but only for logistics purposes . . . they were not supposed to be carrying guns . . . when you see people being killed, there are definitely missiles coming down from these drones,” he said.

However Mukhtar maintained that this was a problem that could be resolved if both, the US and Pakistan came to some “arrangement” over this issue.

You're forgetting one major fact, the Taliban primarily wants to attack Americans. They are attacking Pakistanis because we stand in harms way in defence of the Americans. If those good for nothing thankless leaders of yours are not going to pay up for the costs side as agreed, we'll restructure our forces in such a way they would again have good cause to start fighting American again. We can better defend ourselves by replacing these forces into offensives rather than patrol duty on checkposts.

The militant traffic is going to go towards Afghanistan more than it would come from there with the PA not present and acting like a lightning rod. Good luck with that.

No Asim! Taliban is not going to forgive us for our uturn. Things will not go back to normal now. US forces leave or not, it will make no difference. Taliban agenda is bigger. They want to capture Pakistan and install their own Govt. We have no option but fighting them.

No one who has a stable mind will buy your argument, anyone with fire power has to fall under command and should be trained to follow doctrin, but your so called jihadi fighters are different, they have not chain of command and if allowed to stay by some ones home, and the home has a beautifull girl, this guys will sure lose his zip in his pants and will commit attrocities as he has the fire power and he has no one to report to.

I wish our leaders had balls. Americans are all muslims enemies. All our population hate them. I just wish Pakistan would stop dealing with them. Yes we will suffer but so be it. We recieved no aid and were under sanctions in the 90s. Did we starve -no. In fact we started to rely on ourselves and projects like jf17, al khalid, babur came into fruition. Americans belive in democracy. Please our leaders give us democracy give us what we want do what all pakistanis want kill US soldiers and send them back in body bags.
