Pakistan takes deliveries of 3 SAAB-2000 Aircraft

But are there 3 eryie systems or just one?

Someone (our neighbor) asked here whether they are fitted with radars and I said the new three Saabs are for PIA quetta Lahore operations...:lol::lol::lol: and he believed me.... Lolll
You should have told the Ahole, they only came with one engine each, so restricted to cargo duties.

3 ER

We did the digging.

Basically, the PAF definitely restored its Erieye fleet to 4 aircraft, no dispute on that now as the Swedish government itself confirmed it by reporting the sale of 1 Erieye system to Pakistan in 2018.

The confusion is about the 2 follow-on Erieye AEW&C the PAF reportedly ordered (as per Alan Warnes & AFM) in 2017. Sweden didn't say anything about those, but the EXIM registries show big 'radar equipment' deliveries in April 2018 and April 2019. The last time shipments as big as those occurred were in 2017 when, apparently, the PAF had restored the 4th Erieye AEW&C.

You also have a situation where money is tight, so maybe the program didn't go as quickly as hoped, and the fact that the PAF only got 3 additional Saab 2000s relatively recently.
So indeed PAF increased its western awecs to 6?

This is big boast...number is now equal to original number intended in 2000s

Let see how we do on f16s front

Saab delivers radar equipment to Pakistan Air Force

Defence and security company Saab delivered three sets of radar equipment to Pakistan Air Force (PAF) Base Nur Khan (Chaklala) on 9 April, according to the information provided by the Pakistan Import Export Trade Database.

Although not specified by the website, it is possible that the Swedish company delivered three Erieye airborne early warning and control (AEW&C) radar systems for fitment onto an equal number of twin-engined Saab 2000 aircraft that were handed over to Pakistan's Directorate General Defence Purchase in 2018, according to aircraft sales specialist Skyworld Aviation.

In a 26 June statement Skyworld Aviation announced that the aircraft had previously been in operation with Sweden-based BRA Braathens Regional Airlines.

Oh ho Jane you are a bit late on this one!:lol::lol::lol:

Bhai PAF itself has claimed all 4 restored. Two were damaged at KAMRA one totally destroyed one partially and both were recovered.

All 4 are being used for AWACS. None was modified for VIP. VIP one is separate.
hazrat we have all of them only 049 is not come out since last 7 years . whatever they claimed we need to see a single pic or video of 049 yet

Rubbing the salt on Indian wounds when they already made an attempt to cry before Swedes. Apparently, no one is paying much attention to the Drama anymore except that Indians have to do it so the public may take it as they are isolating us. Irony.

Bhai I know I am not claiming anything about the 10-049 ....

I don't know how you presume that I have posted the screenshot of scramble to support the argument about 10-049 it was posted just to support the news of addition of SAAB-2000 air frames in PAF since 2017.

Following is the screenshot of my original post in one of section of the forum which make the my Argument understandable

The goal in 2017 was to boost the Erieye fleet to 6, the question now is 'when' or if this is actually occurring or not.

Basically, after the first of the new 3 was delivered (i.e., to replace the written-off Erieye), it was unclear if the PAF was continuing with plans for the follow-on order (of 2).

Now it has 3 additional Saab 2000 aircraft, so it seems (especially if the big radar equipment deliveries in 2018 and 2019 are for complete systems) things are moving.
