Incorrect computation.
Let's start from the base defence expenditure. That's 442 billion. Add the 110 billion. That's 552 billion.
Btw I am already being kind in adding 110 billion, because that's effectively a forced increase on us from US due to WoT.
Now it's 3.8%.
You said combined health and education is less than 2.0%. So what happened to that?
Clearly these statistics are incorrect. Let me show you why. They're quoting UN numbers for their statistics. Same website that I am using. But UN numbers for 2009 show 2.7% of GDP toward education. In fact NationMaster may have outdated statistics from year 2000, because UN's numbers for 2000 show 1.8% toward GDP. Btw, who is a more reliable source? Especially for these kinds of purposes?
Now as for the cuts you're talking about, if you can come up with a source that show actual figures, that'd be great.
Nevertheless, 1.8% or 2.7%, that thread title is incorrect.

I am relying only on facts here. Perhaps you missed that.
I can't believe what a big fat lie ares made regarding 0.6% being used toward education and not one single person caught it. Truly remarkable.
Yes that article has been posted. That was the OP. It doesn't show any numbers for how it come up with the figure of 7x. The worst case figure I can find is 2x.
As I said before it was calculate backwards from your defence budget..Just try calculation your defence budget from your newly(claimed figures) see where you arrive at.
You're right that you probably didn't do it on purposes, but I'd expect you to at least confirm that you're at least making a close enough call on the figure. 0.6% vs 2.5% or whatever is a big difference.
As I said I distinctly remember that was total expenditure on health and education combined..I am just trying to find that video.
But video is useless if the people speaking can't back it up. If they're ultra liberal such as najam sethi then they'll make these ridiculous remarks, but they need to back it up. I am backing up what I am saying with figures that are from 2009 from UN. You're probably smart enough to know that the figure won't drop so heavily in just 1 year from 2.7% to 0.56% - which is needed to make the thread title true. Even the lowest 2010 figure I am coming across is 2%. These guys are not doubt lying in the video, whichever video you're talking about.
Pakistan spends 2% of its GDP on education sector which is lesser than Nepal, Bangladesh, India, and Iran (7)
