Yoga is indeed good for the body, as are the movements of namaz/salat, but obviously not as dynamic?

As for he whole religion aspect of it, the folks who practice it in the West just treat it as an exercise and do not link it with faith.

Pakistan was asked to conduct yoga voluntarily , not forcible, it was already pointed it is religion neutral, if it doesnt it is pakistan loss.

But statement like yoga is not helping to reducing rape, is ridiculous, its like telling pakistan following islam, still terrorists acts are still rampant despite following religion of peace.

You dont want to follow something cool, but opposing it for everyone not cool.
We're not the ones recommending you guys to fast or pray Namaz. Its your yogi bears telling us to do yoga.

just cross legs if not on laps. That will do.

or sit like namaz just keep right palm over another. and breathe

We have few topics which Hinduism don't have like
  • Trade
  • Woman rights
  • Non Muslim rights etc etc.

We have few topics which Islam does not have like

1. An Impersonal God
2. Flexibility and freedom
3. Non-violence

Also, Hinduism does have the topics you listed.

When some of the posters here cannot resist their urge to call everyone to Islam, then one is bound to respond (or at least troll)

Namaz is more relaxing and spiritually uplifting as it forms a personal connection between the individual and God.

I take yoga as exercise and promote it further as it is good for health. Religious linkage is not and will not be with yoga.

Lol tell me about it. If yoga couldn't stop "peaceful" indians from electing a mass murderer like Modi then how will it bring peace to Pakistan.

Men lift weights....men don't practice yoga ! :undecided:

And women should start lifting weights too if they don't want osteoporosis later in life....'cause lifting weights increases bone density ! :agree:
Let me be frank....
Not everyone needs to lift weight, since our body isnt made for it...not all of us are Pehalwans or intend to be sumos so why should one be lifting weights???
I seriously think that you torture yourself by sweating it in the gym (something that I tell my hubby too). I'm sure you would have noticed that though you're tired after a game of soccer, your brain is jubilant, alert and de-stressed, but the same is not true for Gym; Gym sessions are torturous to say the least.
Let me tell you one more thing about gyms, although gym gives you enough muscles and strength, it reduces your flexibility and your "functional strength". you know what I mean?
Another thing that i have learnt is not to over do it. I dont want to end up looking manly after lifting weights. Jogging helps me remain slender, I also like Russian crunches.

Btw I dont understand the correlation between lifting weights and osteoporosis?
The bone density reduces with age, vitamin D and a good diet can help you prevent it, but since osteoporosis is genetic there's not much you can do to prevent it.

Yoga on the other hand is about controlling your breath as you exercise, it helps you concentrate and puts your brain at peace. The best thing that you will notice about yourself after doing Yoga is that you start looking more pleasant (somebody who smiles more) and your skin begins to glow. :angel:

If we take yoga as an exercise for health,it is fine.

Who cares if Pakistanis or other people dont want to do YOGA.

Yoga is a fitness and good for mind, maybe muslims like to run instead of Yoga.
