Pakistan Sets Eyes on China’s New J-35 Fighter Jet

The modified J-31 ---> J-35. Modified for carrier based operations. PAF IS NOT GOING FOR J-35, we will be going for the J-31/FC-31 variant.

AZM is our own domestic program to supplement the J-31 fighter.
thanks for clarification. by Modified I mean customized for PAF specific needs which maybe different from standard export variant.

This won't get selected by Pakistani Top Brass , it won't pass the high standard for trials

  • Z-10 for rejected for Mythical , Super Cobras we had 4 machines we returned it politely
  • J-10B order was halted after General Musharraf had done all the good work
  • MPT Turkish Rifles were , again not up to Mythical high standards but 1950 rifles are great
  • No push was made to acquire South African Helicopters
  • In 90's when we had few Destroyers available it was deemed too expensive
  • 20 years War on Terror and we are still driving Toyota Trucks while world armies are using Armored Carriers

:coffee:

Once in blue moon a missile is launched at Sea targeting a mermaid
Instead of Z 10 we chose Turkish t129

Super cobras were separate thing by foreign military sale assistance of USA

I know again I'm the devil's advocate, but IMO deagel is far from a reliable source (just look what Chinese stealth planes they list!) and even more IMO it is not a RD-33 but a RD-93 with the gear-box attached to the bottom as in the JF-17 and the J-10 with the AL-31FN.
hmmm you can say that but facts are F31 did have a first public flight with RD 93 engines and engines are some thing you cant change in the middle infact WS series is built upon the RD series ,with latest RD33m (probable candidate for JF17 block 3) strong possibilities same engine can be used on FC31 ,remmember engine commonality does provides lot of advantages .F104 Engines type concept .Russia will be happy

...here's what'll happen next:

Someone (e.g., @ziaulislam ) will say, "nothing new, we knew this, old news, etc"

Then @Deino will say: "what the hell is this unreliable news outlet, J-35 is ONLY for domestic use, the export variant is FC-31. Stop sharing unreliable news sources..."

...and then:

What do you think we should do?

The FC-31 was originally powered by Klimov RD-33 engines, the same engines that power Russia’s MiG-29 fighter jet.

With in house overhaul facility for RD93 in Pakistan and China uses RD93 derivatives in FC31 its an ideal procurement .For sensor suite we need to look West some where till Chinese avionics comes at par or may be by 2025 they will reach to that level
Fake news. The FC31 is not operational in either country. A prototype has never even been shipped to Pakistan ... how could it be operational there? Honestly just look at Wikipedia, its surprisingly accurate.

@Deino is right. The source is obviously wrong and unreliable. I would not get military developments from Deagel.

100+ like for a single post. :o::o: congratulations. :-)
On topic after fine tuning will this fighter eventually enter to PAF as its fifth generations fighter?

Pak needs a single engine 5th gen fighter like the F35.

I don't what's your point or if you confuse some things but the statement by Deagel, the JF-17 uses the same engine like the MiG-39 aka the RD-33 is WRONG! Period.

Fact is that the RD-93 is a development of the RD-33 with the gear-box relocated from top to the bottom (similar to the AL-31FN, which evolved from the AL-31F by doing the same for the J-10 series and the Flankers). As such You cannot put a RD-33 in a JF-17 or a RD-93 in a MiG-29 in the same way you cannot change engines between a Flanker and a J-10.

I know pretty well how both are connected and since the JF-17 uses a RD-93, the FC-31 is confirmed using it too, it simply cannot change to the RD-33. As such Your claim, the "latest RD33m (probable candidate for JF17 block 3) strong possibilities same engine can be used on FC31" is wrong too. You cannot fit an RD-into

from a sane mind it possible is perfectly placed to be inducted in PAF. However what future holds one cannot say. may be we are offered SU 57, F 35 or Chinese develop a new aircraft that is an uncertainty. otherwise wise it looks complete plausible.

for one JF 31 is a medium size conceived as fighter used for air to air and roles rather than multi role. And sites well to replace F 16 and JF17 block III in that role. while AZAM looks more of a multipurpose and multi functional. Its does not gonna hurt PAF to have few of these in its inventory.

Second AZAM is highly risky project. In such a scenario there's always a backup plan. And J 31 looks perfect at the moment don't know what future holds.
There will most possibly be delays. may be we have to change and upgrade the capabilities of AZAM in future. but one thing is sure like JF 17 AZAM is our requirement and need while J 31 is a option.

Another important aspect is no air force will relay on a single platform. There will always be multiple platforms. If not J 31 may be turkish TFX. but certainly I don't see PAF just having AZAM. just like after JF 17 PAF is still looking for F 16 and mirage.

Pak needs a single engine 5th gen fighter like the F35.

If you can come up with a avilable and reliable engine with good service life, MTBF and MTBR then sure go for it. Any current single engine that is available will get you a low observable mid-low tier platform, without super cruise.

Folks will complain about its limited range and load capacity.

I have said this 1000 times since day one, we don't know shit about how to design & develop an aircraft. All that BS stories of JF coming from the internet warriors in response to my post and I am expecting this again lol. I said this many times that the J-31 is our Project Azm now mark my words again... If J-31 won't available until the next 10 years, you won't see Project ABCDAZM in the next 10 years, the day J-31 available in the market, you will gradually see Project Azm. We have to understand one thing, we don’t have the ability, knowledge, and understanding about aerodynamics, structure, engine, stealth tech, basic ABCD of avionics etc when it comes to latest most sophisticated weapons system. We are way behind in all these. And I am not degrading Pakistanis but just telling you the facts....
Azm will be our own project. J 31 will come also. For love of GOD Pakistan producing one stealth fighter jet on its own doesn't mean that is the only stealth jet Pakistan will have in future. Pakistan will in future at least have three stealth fighters as part of its Air Force not one. We never have and never will stick to only one type of Fighter Jet.
