That is one US view.

Given the total fiasco that has occurred over the Osama issue, the anger that both the Pak Army and the ISI failed the Pakistani people and the popularity of Imran Khan's movement of having taken the US dictate too long and at the detriment of Pakistani aspirations and aim, the Pak Army will think twice before they embark on any adventure.

Further, as Fatman has stated, Pak economy is in a mess, with the situation being so bad that Pakistan had sent a Minister to Saudi Arabia to financial assistance for Pak's Budget.

With such a situation, only a masochist would like to take over with a coup!!

Now we learn that Mush-Bush made a secret deal a decade ago to kill OBL. More lies every day, none of these politicinas and generals can be trusted. They should resign or retire soon. Useless creatures.

They have each an everything in writing!!! Ex-president MUSH signed an agreement 10 years ago that US can come to Pakistan and our Army will not retaliate for action against al-qaeda leaders... and they also have an agreement for drones too... and also have an agreement for US citizens as well... Why people don't understand that Mush was not good he ruled for 8 long years and because of his policies Pak will suffer for at least 18 more years now... what makes me really frustrated and angry is when an educated lot of pakistani people likes Mush.

How time makes people forget ! If General Musharaff did not bow to Pres Bush's demands that Pakistan joins in on the WOT and to all the other demands of the USA, then Pakistan would have been "against the USA". The consequences would have been far worse for Pakistan then it is now. Pakistan did not get a good deal from the USA but sadly for the good general then in charge, it was the only deal which the USA placed on the table.

Kiyanai cannot manage the coup to be honest. If army stages it, it will be via some younger zia generation officers may be. There has to be great amount of indignation and burning in the army at present. And in that case, the current economic and political situation in Pakistan will not matter. That is why I was saying that any coup of any sort will look up to China because only China will and can support the coup in Pakistan and make it tenable. But then it is well known that China supported coups either create north koreas or cambodias or myanmaars. Never a Japan or a south korea.

Pakistan is in such a deep mess that nobody wants to stage a coup and take responsibility.
If US cuts aid things will only get worse. The only way forward for Pakistan is to save what's left of it's dignity and sincerely eliminate all terrorist havens on it's soil (This includes both *good* and *bad* Taliban).
The Osama incident has set new standards for epic fail for Pakistan.

dedicate your prayer to political goons like Nawaz Sharif, PPP walas and MQM who have tried their best to bring a coup upon themselves through many of their acts to bring the govt down just to play a victim card later.

but trust me the army is in NO Mood to stage a coup they have thwarted all attempts by the govt and political parties of bring a coup
