Well Sir F 16 is best now but in few years we will have even better plan if our airforce think tank wake up and sign the deal for J 10B im sure J 10 B will have more manuverability and power than F 16 but if it gets AWACS bring Block 60 one on with J 10B no comparison J 10B will win

You raise a good question, but PAF is looking for aroud 80-100 f-16s.
and along with expected 250 JF-17s, that still leaves a gap of 50-100 aircraft. So PAF has already signed the deal for 36 J-10s. They are working on PAF version, and delivery is expected around 2013-14. Many call this version the J-10B.

A PAF official i talked to, who was in CHINA for JF-17, says J-10 is excellent and PAF has the purchase option. What PAF is looking for is whether the expensive cost of J-10 justifies it over the f-16s.

Because we got the first blk 52+ in 2010, now we can see if buying more F-16s makes sense or J-10. Before 2010, our pilots didn't have much of a experience on BLK52+ tech.

Rest assured, J-10s for the PAF are already underway, just the numbers are not confirmed.

Hi, my personal take is... sanctions prone aircraft bought by a financially broke, morally bankrupt, hijra nation. The PAF should have spend this money on JF-17 production upgrades and increasing local production content, and buying the J-10. Take care.

They serve different purpose. JF-17 is low cost lightweight fighter that will be procured in large numbers and most likely be used as a air defense aircraft. F-16 BLock 52 are the technological high end of PAF and would be the choice if strike missions were required or against high end aircraft such as the SU-30.

I believe there 45 block 15s and with 4 block 52 s deliverd already and 5 more tlday that means
54 in total but only 9 are the version
n blk 52

those older blk 15 f-16s will be upgraded by TAI that would bring them close to blk 50/52 standard...

5 US F-16s arrive today
Islamabad—Second consignment of five F-16 fighter jets would be arriving today (Saturday) in Pakistan.

Defense sources told Online that 5 latest F-16 fighter jets belonging to block 52 families would be landing at Shahbaz Airbase at Jacobabad today.

US will provide Pakistan 18 F-16 fighter jets by the end of this year.

Out of this three have already reached Pakistan, 5 will come today and the remaining 10 will be handed over to Pakistan by the end of December this year.

These fighter jets would be kept at Shahbaz Air base and special hangers have been constructed for them. PAF pilot have obtained special training from US to fly these planes. Sources told that the 5 fighter jets that are coming today were scheduled to come in September however due to flood their arrival has been delayed. Senior officials of Pakistan Air force would be present at Shahbaz Airbase on the arrival of these planes

Hi, the PAF F-16s have the necessary plumbing for IFR. However, the PAF only has Il-76 tankers with hose/drouge systems. The F-16s require boom type IFR systems. As such, the PAF itself cannot do IFR with their F-16s. Just another bright and intelligent decision made by the PAF! Take care.
