India's locomotives are based on GE and Alco designs which are old and gas guzzlers. Iranian locomotives on the other hand are based on EuroRunner and Alstom which are newer and much more fuel efficient. With high fuel prices the choice is obvious. If Pakistan gets the Indian deal then our foreign policy get weakened. What kind of a message would we be sending to Kashmiris? But if we get the Iranian deal then our foreign policy would be stronger since we would be making Americans behave. This is called killing two birds with one stone.
What???? what kind of weird logic is this??? Doing business with a country which is heavily sanctioned is insane especially when other alternatives are present...How come this has anything to do with foreign policy???
b/w I am still not clear about how are you planning to pay them??? Keep in mind foreign reserves are not meant to be used to pay for such deals/trade etc...Think of it like that - Pakistan has to sell her gold to pay Iran...You would not want to do that, do you???
Not that one cannot deal with Iran but dealing with Iran in present circumstances is very difficult...
