Pakistan Punjab Assembly approves resolution to make Guru Nanak's birthday a public holiday

Lol claiming turkic heritage is new low for hindu bhiayas. And then you guys say we worship invaders.

LoL shameless pakjabi , a language developed in the plains of north India, evolved from Prakrit and later khari boli suddenly becomes turkic tradition because inbred pakjabis considers turkics as their grand daddys

Some of the Indians here are so jealous and butt hurt when they see progression in Pakistan. What does it have to do with you if they have made Guru Nanak's birthday a national holiday? After all he was born in the region which is now Pakistan, so it is normal if Sikhs have some kind of connection with Pakistan.

Good move if actually implemented, how about making hindu holy days also as holidays as they are in greater numbers than sikhs or do they also have to break into punjab assembly.

LAHORE: Sardar Ramesh Singh, the first Sikh member of the Punjab Assembly, tabled a resolution requesting that the birthday of Guru Nanak, founder of Sikhism, be made a public holiday.Ramesh Singh is a member of Pakistan Muslim League — Nawaz (PML-N) and the resolution was approved in the Punjab Assembly on Wednesday.

The passing of the resolution comes just a few days after members of the Sikh community stormed through the gates of Parliament House to protest against the alleged desecration of their holy books.

The protesters later apologised for entering the premises in a violent manner and forwarded a list of demands to members of the Senate.

Leader of the House Raja Zafarul Haq had assured the 13-member Sikh committee that he would forward their demands to Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
Sikhs should have a holiday not public holiday

What the hell, we punjabi muslims have nothing to do with guru nanak, he is a sikh figure and pakistani punjab is not province of sikhs, We must condemn this resolution , I dont understand why it was even allowed to be tabled in punjab assembly. But on the side note, many such useless resolutions get tabled and passed because most members dont want to offend the person who presents them.

Guru nanak was good saint and punjabi poet, nothing wrong in this resolution.

this is going to attract a lot of attraction in all over pakistan

Good decision by the Punjab assembly.

Nankana Sahib is not the Mecca or Medina for Sikhs. The Five Takhts surely are and all of them are in India.

I heard this from sikh election comision officer, he said it in interview with Najam Sethi.

It's just a holy place like other places where guru's were born. The real prominent gurudwaras in Sikhism are only five takhts and Akal Takht (Akal - Eternal/God,Takht - As in seat) being the supreme.

Great decision! Nankana Sahab is where Guru Nanak was born..
