Not sure if PA would acquire something like this...but MKEK has recently revealed their Mehmetcik-1 assault rifle as a potential replacement to Turkey's G-3s and HK-33s...looks like licensed produced HK416 & 417.

HKPRO: The HK416

I really think Pakistan army needs to upgrade their assault rifles. G-3 is too clumsy and MP5 really sucks.

Isn't there a issue where Colt are suing HK for the HK416?

that might spanner the deal.

The Towed Howitzer developed by MKE under theADOP-2000 programme, aimed at raising the ability ofthe artillery group of the Turkish Armed Forces (TAF) torespond to the needs of today’s battle conditions, stands alongside its peers produced by the west. Using NATO-standard modern ammunition and utilising a 52Calibre 155mm barrel, the Howitzer has been produced due to the extensive works of MKE’s Turkish engineers at its factories. Thanks to its auxiliary power unit MKE’s Towed Howitzer Panter could reach a maximum speed of 18km/hour and is able to fire three rounds in 15 seconds and up to 6 rounds per minute with its semiautomatic shell loading system. Panter can leave its firing position in two minutes.

New deals with Pakistan 08 August 2008, Friday

Local defense contractor Aselsan has long been a strategic partner of Islamabad for the production of army field radios at a military facility in Pakistan.

Aselsan will also provide the Pakistani navy with four gyro-stabilized 25 millimeter guns under a deal signed almost a month ago.

Meanwhile, local contractor Havelsan sold Pakistan a $28 million tactical simulated range Electronic Warfare (EW) system to deter surface-to-air threats and for use in electronic warfare. Turkey and Pakistan earlier agreed to cooperate in research and development on a broad range of defense projects, including the joint production of cluster bombs. There have been ongoing talks on the progress of cooperation in various areas.

Some of the areas identified as potential fields for cooperation in defense, research, technology and production include:

Nuclear, biological and chemical detection, protection and decontamination equipment produced in Turkey

81 millimeter mortar ammunition

Production of cluster bombs with 300 to 400 bomblets each for different missions

Production of precision-guided munitions

Detection systems for use against improvised explosive devices

Precision-guided bomblets for conventional munitions

Cooperation in the sale and production of 122 millimeter short-range and long-range multiple rocket launcher ammunition. Turkey's Roketsan and the Turkish Mechanical and Chemical Industry Corporation (MKEK) are proposing sales and joint production with Pakistan.

Your welcome, brothers... As I said, Posting the cooperation agreements between Pak-Turk is a great pleasure for me...

After 2008, Lots of cooperation agreements have also been signed between authorities again such as Tiha-A, Milgem... Those two project is the uplimit technological accretion of Turkish defence industry... No doubt that After 3-4 years later, You will also see your indigenous (or Pakistan made) Tiha's and Milgem's with different names in your medias... :)

and For future, I do not know about Mehmetcik-1 but I personelly sure that Turkey and Pakistan will sign an agreement which involves tec. cooperation to produce T-129 or (P-129) with UMTAS-Cirit missiles, TF-2000 AAW and Low level Air Defence missiles Aselsan-Roketsan....

Air defence radars have already developed to integrate platforms...

As We cooperated to develop T-129 with Italy, I think Pakistan will also cooperate with Turkey to develop-produce T-129...
