Pakistan orders Dutch OPV (1,900 tons, 90 m). To be built at KSEW

4 new corvettes (MILGEM)
2 new OPVs (Damen OPV 1800)
4 Azmat-class FAC
4-6 additional FAC
8 Hangor AIP submarines from China

Plus the stuff the PN already has, i.e. 4 F-22P and 3 Agosta 90B submarines. There are also new auxiliary ships, e.g. PN Fleet Tanker and the Submarine Rescue & Salvage Vessel.

2 opv from Damen , only one is mentioned to v built at ksy where is the second one announced ??

Will it be build by damen ?? Where is the order details stating total 2 ??

that will be good but at this point in time we have no confirmation of any missile or torpedo integration right? what kind of chopper? etc. without the muscles this OPV is no better than 95 meter corvette for PMSA under construction. and then why would navy wanted to add a PMSA type boat to its inventory and down grade its punch from type 21 to unarmed OPV? eventhough type 21 needs replacement, but replacement means similar or higher type of capabilities not lesser.

I also cant understand why Pakistan is ordering this ship when we have already the Chinese versions! The only answer is, learning new western technologies and transfer it to the Chinese! Like we did it with every western military product, for example, AIP system of Agosta-90 B was first in Pakistan and then on Chinese subs.

Someone in know (on this thread) said it was for 2 ships, one built at KSEW the other in the Netherlands.

The chinese are using European propeller designs for their subs. They don't need us to give them any technology.

A modest increase , makes the Navy into a reasonable force (most international countries have such number) and it is not extraordinary as the ships are also close coast protection vessels

Better to get 4 OPV from Holland , while we have chance seems like a wonderful ship with decent size it shorter then 120 meter length but reasonable improvment

Buying additional Damen OPVs isn't really a huge challenge. These ships are by design meant to be low cost (e.g. steel hull, lacking EW/ESM, multi-mode radars, etc). Each one is around $30 m. Great for policing the seas - counter-piracy, interdicting trafficking and snuggling, etc.

But having them doesn't compensate for warships such as corvettes or frigates, which are costlier by several multiples ($250 m each).

Seems like it is a Blue water Ship , can carry a nice Sea Hawk at back. And we can always customize it with some weaponry

Are we adding out Ababeel Missile on this Ship ? What is the plan

1-2 Helicopters at back can hopefully carry some Nasr Missiles as well

This might be a good ship but PN needs all of it's sea going asset to be armed we anti ship and anti air missiles. Plus some anti sub weapons

i think we should add some SAM's, SSM and torpedo tubes. this 90 meter 1900 ton Sea AXE ship is a class of its own and with some innovation by adding SAM's, SSM and torpedo tubes will make it a very potent PN platform. almost all modern navy have OPV's of some kind with some offensive and defensive weapons
