Came across this interesting news, which gives the idea, that Pakistan has Predator and its operating long time ago. More like its been sold to Pakistan.

New Twist in Downed Drone Mystery
The other day, an American-made Predator spy drone went down in Pakistan. But, strangely, U.S. officials said they didn't know a thing about the unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) -- despite the pictures of its wreckage on Pakistani television.

This afternoon, our pal Nathan Hodge asked Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Admiral Michael Mullen about the downed drone. Mullen's response: "It wasn't a U.S. UAV."

So whose drone was it? Predator-maker General Atomics Aeronautical Systems Inc. will only confirm sales of its UAVs to three foreign countries: Turkey, the United Kingdom, and Italy. All three countries are participating in the International Security Assistance Force that's trying to keep Afghanistan from boiling over. But those aren't the only militaries with Predators. According to a spokesperson, the firm also has "classified sales that we do not discuss."

I got doubts, would the US give us such nice toys? I mean they are the only drones which can be armed

We are not operarting them like lockhead f-16 said the US seems to act like master at doing things all around the world and then denies it they would never give us this toy just another game being played by US.

I don't think it means anything.

Mullen's response "It wasn't a U.S. UAV." is as expected to the last letter. He talked about what he knew. The author of the article seems to take Mullen's words for confirmation of a UAV getting downed.
The only way to make sure is to examine the wreckage. But I don't think any wreckage was shown on the media(?)

Similarly the reply of Predator manufacturers is expected.

This is the language they speak usually. We need not look for hidden meanings in it.

This is down Predator avionic......

This much we know: an American-made Predator spy drone has gone down in Pakistan. But what's the still unclear is how that drone was knocked out of the sky, and who really operated the unmanned plane.

In recent months, the U.S. military has stepped up its use of unmanned aerial vehicles, or UAVs, to hunt and take out suspected militants in Pakistan. During a week in early September, American drone strikes in Pakistan killed more than 50 people. Pakistani reaction has ranged from muted to outraged. But in this new UAV offensive, not a single drone has gone down. Until now, perhaps.

We do not have predators and the Americans will not give them to us!! It is possible the UAV might have been some other make which PA operates, but US will not give us predators. No website or source has ever confirmed it.

The US denial is standard policy. They always deny downing of any aircraft, and only confirm if overwhelming proof is shown on mainstream media.

You are absolutely right, unless the downed craft is shown and is proved to be American, they ain't accepting it.

Remember the U-2 incident in 1960?
