What's new

Pakistan needs a Two Child Policy

People promoting the 2 child policy in reference to China's 1 Child need to realize what China provided as incentives.

Free Education
Improved Rations
Free/better Healthcare
Higher wages
Interest-free loans
Cheaper necessities
Tax breaks

But falling fertility rates is also a function of economic progress. The developed world -- US, Europe, Japan, etc. -- all have declining fertility rates, to the point, that it's falling below replacement rate. This could happen to Pakistan too as it progresses economically. As more people enter the middle class, the fewer children they will have. I'm seeing this in India, where middle class families now have 2-3 kids at the most. Sharp contrast to my parent's generation, both whom have more then 5 siblings a piece.

Correct. And that's precisely my point. As Pakistan develops economically, its birth rate will decline naturally.

Developed countries can better afford to cope with the problems of a declining or stagnating population than Pakistan. It still has a long way to go.

Countries that aren't developed like Iran and China are experiencing problems with their declining fertility rate. Not to mention that even developed countries with low fertility rates are using immigration to fill in the gaps.

The situation in India is particularly interesting. In southern India, fertility rates have incredibly already fallen below replacement level. While in Northern India (outside of the northwest), they remain high. I expect a lot of north-to-south migration there in the coming decades.

The 6th Most populous country
Pakistan's population is on a Climb.
http://www.worldometers.info/world-population/pakistan-population/

Pakistan approximately the size of US state of Texas went from 50,000,000 in 1950 to 200,000,000 in 2016.
Since India is set to overtake China in the race to the most Populated country in the next few years,Problems for India will creep up more and more,China has far better Living standard and managed to improve the lives of 600 million living in poverty.
In 2012, the Indian government stated 22% of its population is below its official poverty limit. The World Bank, in 2011 based on 2005's PPPs International Comparison Program, estimated 23.6% of Indian population, or about 276 million people, lived below $1.25 per day on purchasing power parity.

Almost 50 percent of mumbai population lives in slums .It is the most populous city in India and the ninth most populous agglomeration in the world

With Pakistan trying to learn "The art of China" with all the Chinese wisdom and CPEC why not learn another thing to reduce the biggest problem of Pakistan.
I often hear Pakistanis say We're the 6th most populous country in the world (Fun fact).
We can't even provide food education and health to an already out of hand population.
poverty-in-pakistan-by-javed-choudhry-33-638.jpg

Pakistan is a immensely troubled country ,Lets get real.
According to a report, nearly 39 percent of Pakistanis live in multidimensional poverty, with the highest rates of poverty in FATA and Balochistan. Pakistan's MPI showed a strong decline, with national poverty rates falling from 55% to 39% from 2004 to 2015.
In 2011, 12.4% of Pakistanis live below in Pakistan's definition of poverty however According to the World Bank, poverty in Pakistan fell from 64.3% in 2002 to 29.5% in 2014.
What's so special about this steep decline? It just represents the immense resilience of our people,No matter the odds always looking forward and having a positive mindset to improve their lives.
The effects of over-population for Pakistan are extremely disconcerting not because it cannot overcome the problem but because there is being done absolutely nothing to stop it.
More population mean's everything from.
  1. Unemployment leading to crime
  2. Rising Taxes and economic burden, Mostly the poor have the most children and that creates problems
  3. Problems with healthcare(Doctors won't be enough so will hospitals)
  4. Fleeing Immigrants (Very bad image for country)
  5. More traffic (If it hasn't sucked enough to drive in Islamabad /Rawalpindi already from 2011 on-wards there has been a Huge increase in traffic) With all the Little boys with no skill for driving crashing into good drivers.
  6. Transport and Infrastructure problems, Make new Metro buses (Gonna need at least 3 in Twin cities),Widen the roads as a result of Booming population.
  7. Education ,We've got a sorry $*it System that encourages hate between different classes,From everything to cambridge Edexcel IB yada yada to Government school and Mullah madrasa's, Can't provide education to an already huge population and it also leads to a special type of social radicalization that contributes to all the mess of Fake Jihad,Kill muslims and Infidels B.S
  8. Problems with city planning ,Not every Pakistani city can become (DHA or Bahria town) ,Just look at what has happened to Karachi from Partition and 1960s onward ,Even 1970s it looked a cleaner and beautiful city.
  9. More trash to take care of, We ain't recycling everything so just leave it off at Clifton or Margalla hills.
  10. Less people is freaking fantastic,Make the world a better place by getting rid of the special type that have 50 children and 6 wives,Ultimately the wife concept has to be revised to solve our stupid social issues ,Only 1 marriage per Boy/Man ,Don't screw that up lay down 2 eggs with one person mess the marriage up and go lay down another 2 with the other :P
Financial punishment Should be imposed depending on the economic standing of the family after every 2nd Child:

Super rich Class (Nawaz sharif ,Mian mansha etc) 80 Lac's per year
Upper-Class 30 Lacs A year Depending on Monthly Income
Middle Upper 10 lacs
Middle Middle 6 lacs
Middle lower 5 lacs
Lower 2 lacs Penalty after a Limit of 4 Children (Because most of them contribute to the agriculture sector and we need more farmers and laborers)
Lower lower (None) ?

2 child policy is not necessarily should be the limit,You can impose penalties on class systems if they cross the limit,Years of tax evasion will be retrieved from all classes especially the corrupt Super rich.

PS:
No religious bashing and constructive criticism only,Don't go off topic (Keep it in between India Pakistan population)
sorry but no not possible, family planning is explicitly forbidden in Islam

the problem of pakistan is not heavy population but lack of proper direction for the masses.
When many Pakistanis do corruption and drink etc ,Why not do something even if its against Religion which ends up making A difference for the country and its people .
if you are a muslim then i don't have words to answer your height of ignorance and lack of faith. won't be replying to you again.

the problem of pakistan is not heavy population but lack of proper direction for the masses.
All the ayat he referred to was about Abortion being Haram.Islam is not against family planning,in my knowledge so far
if you dont want to see then its your choice. i also gave you a link other then this vid. islam is not against family planning but no islamic govt can make law forcing the people into this business. its upto individuals whether to go for it or not depending upon their own conditions.

I swear if i was PM of pakistan i would kiill every single molvi by suffocating the with condoms.

On serious note pakistan needs comprehensive education which can make children aware of rights and wrongs at the early stage of their education which includes faimly planning and many other things.
What kind of people you are ? Do you also see Molvis in your sleep and get up screaming Movli ! Molvi ! ...

It's this kind of thinking that's making Islam a regressive joke... which is turning off the next generation.

The jahil mullahs don't get it. You are losing the battle of the hearts.

Over population is a serious concern.. A one child or two child policy is needed, but alas in our mullah inspired country this would never be possible.

Please quote quran or legit hadith which says family planning is explicitly haram?...
putting you on ignore list .another ignorant.

We need that and mandatory conscription.

Based on my understanding conscription is already legal, but there is no need. Pakistan has a large army, and in the past basic army training was a part of school syllabus. The training is now optional and not very commonly used

Education needs to increase

The child limit policy was a huge issue that was also imposed on the poor in India with disastrous consequences. You're better off investing resources on the children finding more resources for the country.

Please give a reference to ayat or a confirmed hadith for that unless Mulana fazlu rehman hired you to spread his false propaganda

India has higher population and higher population density than Pakistan. And this very fact is the reason is India is getting stronger day by day. Large populations brings larger markets and larger economies. The only thing which Pakistan want is a sincere leadership which will adopt effective public policies on important sectors i.e. education, health, economy etc and every problem will be solved.

How can you implement 2 child policy when you have 4 marriage policy?
Sincere question family planning is against Islam. Right?

Islam is not against family planning in fact there is an order in Quran about breastfeeding a baby for two years which if regularly done (without occasionally giving formula milk), prevent pregnancy.

Now Islam is against abortion of fetuses which are alive and breath that is of 120 days (if I am not wrong about the age of the fetus any doctor can correct).

You tell me ???

So did you forget to read the consequences of a population overload? In-fact let me tell you that ,People are suffering in Pakistan due to that...

You skipped the 10 points which I wrote? Open the link which I gave in Post #1 ,Check how many babies are born in 10 Minutes,To give you an idea.
6th Most populous country in the world is some achievement isn't it?I guess of the many Pakistanis living abroad like you take Pride in that . Not the first I came across
Its great if you've got the proper structure to keep it afloat If not, then its total chaos which is happening in Pakistan.
its Way over the tipping point ,You should know that living abroad about your homecountry.

You don't understand, my friend. When fertility rates decline, they almost never increase again.

Many countries across the globe have fertility rates below replacement level (they have, or will have, a declining population). Many of these countries use immigration to fill in the gaps. They are only able to do this, however, because they have a developed economy to attract immigrants. Pakistan does not (yet).

The global fertility rate is declining, and so is Pakistan's. In a decade or two, Pakistan's fertility rate will reach a healthy level on its own. And eventually, it too will reach a low fertility rate one day.

But by enacting a policy that will tightly restrict population growth, Pakistan will pay an economic price down the road. China and Iran already are.

Encourage the brightest, best looking and most educated to marry one another and have lots of children so the future stock improves. Instead the thickest, ugliest and ignorants are producing the most children.

Countries by percent of population living below $3.10 in 2011 PPP dollars.

Ever heard a poor old Pakistani lady saying " Do waqt ka khana nahi Milta" on a Pakistan News channel.
Maybe if you have a less population you can support those people by assembling available and also new Jobs.
I don't think that a huge population for a Developing country is the Right way to go.
Scale down Population ,Completely change the education system.
Otherwise we're gonna see many problems in the coming years.

The map you have posted is a bit incorrect. Pakistan has a lower portion of it's population living on $3.10 or less a day than India, as of 2011, despite having a higher birth rate.

It's unfortunate that some people in the country are unable to have two meals a day, but Pakistan has made great strides in reducing poverty, and it continues to do so. Pakistan's fertility rate is declining, and it will be fine. Tight population control is not the solution. It will cause many economic problems down the road.

limit to one woman one child policy...! need more kid marry more women!!

What kind of people you are ? Do you also see Molvis in your sleep and get up screaming Movli ! Molvi ! ...

We are kind of people who see what those scumbags have done to our country and religion. They turned a religion of peace into something feared in every corner of globe. I have yet to meet a Molvi who is not a self absorbed, manipulative and lying bastard.

The best example related to this topic is that They preach to people to have as many children as they can but have you seen a mullah with more two or three kids himself.
