Yes, the corvettes will be in addition to the 14 frigates. In fact, on top of the 4 MILGEM, the PN is reportedly considering the 3 ex-Brunei Nakhoda Class ships as well.

Similarly, the sources said PN was actively considering acquiring 3X Ex-Brunei Navy corvettes build by M/s BAE of UK from 2000-2003.

How old where the Type 21's when Pakistan first acquired them? Were they a waste of money? And before that, the Gearings and the Brooke/Garcia classes?

beggars cant be choosers - the reality is that in our 60-yr history we have not been in a comfortable position (read spare CASH) to pay for NEW big ticket HARDWARE. it has always been ex-stock equipment from the US (FMS loans), UK etc. we can probably count on our fingers the number of occasions when new equipment was purchased from the west. the only exception has been China and we have always got equipment from them on "easy terms".

Bro, We suppose that TF2000 project will officially start in 2009. SSM authorities reported that design phrase of TF2000 has already been started and First prototype AAW frigate is planning to launch on sea until 2016-2017.

You know, We have a defence fair that called IDEF in Istanbul on 27 - 30 April 2009. Turkish defence firms are preparing to make a great indigenous product show for fair. Some authorities told that TF-2000 3D design will also introduce in IDEF 2009. We hope to see TF2000 design in there at STM stands... but There is not any official specification table of TF2000 on schedule for present...


About stealth TF-100, Turkey is going to launch first TF-100 MultiPurpose frigate in the 100. year anniversary of Turkish Republic. It means that Turkey will launch first Tf-100 frigate on sea on 29th October 2024...

The name of the country will release at IDEX 2009 defence fair, While signiture ceremony is performing with authorities... You know, The related system are GENESIS or GENESIS-VLS... and I suppose, The name of disclosed country will be one of the Egypt or Pakistan...

when we get these frigates from USA we requested them in 2004 or 2005 four years have been passed please if anyone have news share with us i think pakistan should buy destroyers now after F 22 70% of our surface fleet consist of frigates we have very less destroyers if whatever destroyers we have they are very old as we all knoiw destroyers are very capable than frigates in size they are big and they carry more variety of weapons than frigates they can carry anti ship,anti air, wire guided torpedos,splashes and much more but frigates cannot carry alot like destroyers do
