Featured Pakistan Navy Type 054AP Frigates - Update, News & Discussion

8-) Would be nice if we got 2 Delivered arriving side by Side into Pakistani Port
However First Ship is a welcomed story

In my opinion the world is focused on IoR. Beside Indian navy there is no local navy to challenge European and american ingress into IoR. IN MY opinion they have plans to make Chinese navy and it's allies life miserable in IoR. the only navy that can or could stand up is PN. However Type54ap seems good but can it sustain modern warfare beyond 5-10 years.

The arrival of 1 Ship , end of year is by no means any major disruptive matter the enemy operates 30-40 ships

Pakistan lacks behind on the Heavier Ship categories so having the first 4 arrive would be ideal
To help correct the imbalance in region

"Pakistan/CPEC Ocean" needs to be Protected 8-)

It is suitable for Pakistan needs for the next 10 years. Type 054B will be the one having AESA, and equipped with VLS only.

ISLAMABAD:
The second Type-054 AP frigate of the Pakistan Navy, out of an order for four warships, was launched in China on Saturday.

According to Navy’s media wing, the launching ceremony was held at Hudong Zhonghua Shipyard Shanghai, China. The ceremony was attended by Chief Naval Overseer (CNO) Commodore Azfar Humayun as chief guest.

“Type-054 Frigates will be one of the most technologically advanced surface platforms of Pakistan Navy Fleet, fitted with latest surface, subsurface and anti-air weapon systems,” the press release added. “The ships will be fitted with a range of electronic warfare, air and surface surveillance and acoustic sensors integrated through a state of the art Combat Management System.”

Pakistan Navy ordered four Type-054A/P Frigates in 2017. All the ships are being delivered as per the planned schedule despite Covid-19 disruptions.

While addressing the ceremony, CNO Commodore Humayun highlighted that induction of these warships would significantly enhance Pakistan’s maritime defence and deterrence capabilities.

The ceremony was also attended by various high-level Chinese officials including representatives of CSTC and HZ Shipyard.
